Adorable as ever

So I'm good at starting things then forgetting all about them. How often I update this journal is a good example, but recently I decided I should finally do something with my domain that I've had for some time. For now the site will be pretty simple, I didn't want to overwhelm myself with the site. And I as I get more to add I'll add more pages. Right now I have a small post with a video, that yeah not the best audio because well I was so excited to finally see Matt again that I didn't realize my finger was over the mic the whole time. And I uploaded some pictures, these were from the Guitar Center Drum off at the Henry Fonda Theater.

Who: Angels and Airwaves is the new project of former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge, and it's an ambitious one. With a sound that's more spacious and anthemic than pop and punk, AvA captured the attention of the music world with their debut effort, 2006's We Don't Need to Whisper. The band's second full-length album, I-Empire, hits on November 6th, and features the awesome single "Everything's Magic."

The Challenge: This one was an upset special from the get-go. Showcasing his mastery of the two-way picking technique, Matt Wachter jumped out to a quick lead over Russell and never looked back. Despite not actually owning a copy of Guitar Hero, the Angels and Airwaves bassist demonstrated quick fingers, precise fretting and an in-your-face attitude that left our champion reeling. Fortunately, the two combatants were able to hug it out at the end.

Anyone who is going to an Angels and Airwaves show anytime in the next month or 2 please let me know!!! I need to ask you a HUGE favor involving giving matt some information for me :)

where I was first in line, and thus right in front of Matt. Yeah, sometimes getting in line at 5AM does pay off. More when I've recovered.

I'm flying to London next week to see Angels & Airwaves, for obvious reason(s).

There is no guarantee, of course, that I will see Matt offstage at all. However, I have been to this club before (in April, when 30STM were there), and I think the odds are good that I *will* see him. At least, I hope so.

I'm taking him some photos that I had previously sent via the band, but wasn't sure he'd gotten. I was also thinking of putting a card together, although obviously I'm just about out of time.

I've had one person forward me something to put on it. If anyone else wants to send a photo and/or text, I'll be happy to combine and print anything that I get by Sunday into 8x10 pages that I will bind together to make a card. I suspect the cover will be some variation on the sign we made for him in Boston last October, that you can see here: http://www.lilithofsherwood.com/30STM/Boston/slides/021riotsign.html especially since I hope to recreate that poster again. If you want to include a handwritten message, the best way would be to write or draw it, scan it, and send it to me that way.
