2005.10.11 Update

It's a reception for "lots of brides"!Event for the commemoration of 雅-miyavi-single going on sale

For commemoration of the release of his 3rd single 「Wedding Ceremony Song」, on the 10th(1), rock singer 雅-miyavi-conduced an event at the Harajuku Quest Hall in Tokyo; 1500 fans gushed with excitement.

An 11 ton truck(2) rode up to the meeting hall entrance、the white tuxedo'ed figure of Miyavi がド派手に登場=写真(3)。Without a line, over a 100 female fans in wedding dresses lined up to greet him holding red roses.

Miyavi enthusiastically sang 4 songs with the accompaniment of his own guitar、「People who came here dragging a dress in the rain、thank you。If only Japan had laws so we could practice polygamy, it'd be ok。And as it happened、we didn't even bother to eat lots of yakiniku because our bodies couldn't take it」and a roar of laughter rings out。

-Author's Notes-
The link to Harajuku Quest Hall is here: http://www.quest-hall.or.jp/

(1) - The sentence was: 雅-miyavi-(年齢非公表)が10日、. It means "Miyavi ((年齢非公表)is/was the 10th". 年齢非公表 is "nenreihikouhyou", which translates to "Age Unofficial Announcement". I don't understand what "age" means there. Gomen.

(2)The Japanese said "11トントラック", which reads "11 tontorakku". That's still a lot of weight...

(3)がド派手に登場=写真 is ..ga dohade ni doujou=shyashin. "ga" is just a particle marking the topic of the sentence (Miyavi in this case). "hade ni doujou" means "flashy entrance to the stage". The "do" in front of it doesn't translate well; it means "the degree something happened to". I'm guessing that = means the same thing in America, which is an equal sign. So... "the degree that he entered the stage was so flash it equaled a photograph"... I think it was it kind of translates to. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

What would he need in an 11 ton truck o_o

I don't think he'd like that many wives XD That many women together... and what if they hit "that time" together? which does happen when women are around each other for very long It'd be hell for the poor guy.

Yeah, after about a day of that. And you know, they'd go through it staggered, so at any given time there'd be at least two or so going through it. That's enough to turn a man off of woman for awhile/ever.

LOL... in an interview Miyavi said that he would prefer dating a girl who is sooo kawaii and EXTREMELY younger than him (remember he prefers calling his self 20 rather than 25) Miyavi's a youngster by heart! He even claimed he's 16 one time though he's already in his mid-20's(buuuhuuuuu!!!! It would take me about 5 years before I could get to Tokyo University for a master's degree and he's already 30 by then!!!) haha,,, and i've always loved being 7 years younger than him!!!

rock singer 雅-miyavi-conduced

"okonai" is a masu form of "okonau" which means to hold an event. So basically it instead of conduced, it should be "held"

ど派手

This might mean like "magnificent show". I'm having a hard time finding a dictionary that clearly explains it to me, but slang words tend to abbreviate other words/combinations, and doudou is one word that means "mangificent, grand, impressive, etc." which I think would match the occassion and meaning in that it was a big deal and he made a grand entrance. I think the equal thing just means that there were picture ops as he was doing his grand entrance.

新曲にちなんで

This actually means "in association with the song" which you seemed to leave out. "In association with the song, over 100 female fans in wedding dresses not in a line held red roses and enthusiastically met him."

そうなると、焼肉たくさん食って頑張らないと、体が持たないぜ」と爆笑を誘っていた。

When that happens, we won't insist on eating a lot of yakinku, as our bodies can't carry it," he (Miyavi) said to induce a roar of laughter.

ど派手

The "do" means really, or extremely. Like, really, really, really flashy.

そうなると、焼肉たくさん食って頑張らないと、体が持たないぜ

This means, "unless we eat a lot of yakiniku, our bodies wouldn't hold up"

sorry if this is really old i found a link to this online and i came here and i'm japanese so i thought it might be helpful
