Wow.. he was still in Japan? Doesn't he have a show in the US coming up soon? (Wish I was going to see him in Shibuya!) I'll probably catch him at the end part of the tour anyway (^0^)ゞ

地震大丈夫か?

でビビった!!

Translation:
How was the earthquake?
I was calm and composed

then I freaked out!!

Notes:
Last night, in central Tokyo, there were two small earthquakes maybe around 3 and 2 on the Richter Scale, shortly followed by a whopping 6.7, light-fixture shaking, shelf-shaking earthquake. Actually, Tokyo doesn’t have many earthquakes. I used to live in Chiba, and Chiba had more earthquakes than Tokyo did even though they are right next to each other. Even at 6.7, it didn’t do much damage. That strong of an earthquake will knock stuff off of shelves, and make it very difficult to stand or walk without holding onto something solid. Personally, coming from central U.S. where the ground does nothing at all ever, I find earthquakes very entertaining. Of course I’ve never experienced one that causes a lot of damage – I am not hoping to ever having that experience. ps; I've noticed that in general, the residents of Japan (Japanese people, Japan-born non-ethnic Japanese people, etc.) freak out over earthquakes more than foreigners do.

I think he still has a week before his LA show~

I've lived in Northern California most of my life and we apparently (?) get a lot of earthquakes here, but my first time actually consciously experiencing one was this summer. No one really freaked out about it my friend was half asleep and was like 'that must've been a huge truck to shake the dorms that much' hahaha

Then again, it was 4.5ish on the scale.

I feel like I've been hearing a lot about earthquakes in Japan lately. Or maybe I'm just mixing news.

Thanks for the updates~

*tries to imagine Miyavi freaking out*
...
all I can think of are his music videos xD

ah... really interesting that he posted this. I was just watching a special on earthquakes, with a specialist in Japan saying how often they happen in Tokyo.
Scary.

I've lived in LA off and on for 3 years but have yet to feel one ^^

Miyavi freaks out over earthquakes huh?

I've only experienced 2 earthquakes. Where I live you don't get them often at all. I slept through the first one and I would have slept through the second one if my mom hadn't woken me up because she was freaking out.

EARTHQUAKES ARE SCARY!! I think it's cause I've experienced a lot since I've lived in Cali my whole life so I get scared of it. One time I tried running to my parents room during an earthquake (6.7ish as well) and if it weren't for my dad I would have fallen into the wall XD

hee, I systematize with him, where I live we get earthquakes very often, in fact we just had a big one last week - I always try to stay calm but still can't help getting scared every time x__x

Whoa, I think I haven't commented here in a long time ^^;;

So I read this after me and my roommates had a total panic attack over a cockroach in our room (this is the first one we've ever had! Sooo gross). To be honest...

I think I could handle an earthquake better than I handled the cockroach.

................. I was in Tokyo the night before last. I kinda wish I'd been there last night though cause I haven't been in an earthquake before and it'd be an interesting experience (I mean, one like this where it's just enough to be scary but not actually do any real damage orz. I'm incredibly glad there haven't been any big ones).

I think he's got a week or so until his show.

Haha, 6.7? Thats a pretty good shaker. It can do a lot of damage, depending on how old the structures are. A town in the state I live in got hit with a 6.2....and a good portion of the buildings had pretty nasty damage. Japan's been hit with so many earthquakes that they've kinda designed their buildings to be stronger I'm so not an engineer...and I do didn't work in a seismology lab for an internship

I love his dramatic pauses.

We had an earthquake in Chicago a little while ago. It was (very) small, because it had traveled up from some more central state where it was quite large. But still, everyone was like "....What the fuck earthquake?!"

I'd take an earthquake ANY day over the tornadoes we get here. I used to live on SoCal before the family moved to the South. D:

Tbe concert is most definitely next weekend. I was supposed to go :( Now I can't. *cries*

Earthquakes are creepy. Been in a few. Not really big ones, but there have been a couple maybe as high as a 5. Earthquakes are scary because you don't know when it starts if it's gonna be bad or not. But I don't usually freak out during them. I spent so many years doing earthquake drills, just in case.

downside of living RIGHT on a fault line.

This reminds me of the small earthquakes in the Midwest a couple weekends ago - my girlfriend was playing Fatal Frame at 5AM when it hit and the two combined scared the hell out of her for a few minutes.

Nigeria doesn't have earthquakes and I am yet to experience one in the states so yeah....I'd be freaking out too. Not as much as I'd freak out if a cockroach flies into my face or lands on my hair though. Now that - me freaking out when a cockroach lands on my head - is supremely comic stuff for TV.

I've gone through quite a few earthquakes in my life (to the point where I can guess the degree to within 0.5 on the Richter!), so I'm pretty blase about it. But Japan has been hit by a few bad earthquakes recently, so maybe that's why everyone is uptight.

Hm...since lots of structures in Japan are vertical (because of the lack of space, Japan being an island and all), it's particularly creepy.

If you're in a 1-story house in the US, it's almost like no big. But being in California myself, earthquakes are the only form of natural disaster that's slightly common. California weather is the best ever~ XD I'd freak if there was a flash flood or something. :O

Living in an area that doesn't really get any earthquakes, I can't really guess how that would feel.

But I would be freaked out if I was in one, too!

Thanks for translating!

i live in SoCal, and we get earthquakes a lot more often, apparently..

only problem is that I never FEEL them, even the moderately "big" ones... yeah, I think there's something wrong with me, too... so i have yet to experience what it's like during an earthquake...

Thank you for translating!

During the only earthquake I've felt, I freaked out. I was lying on a mattress on the floor half-asleep, when I felt the mattress moving under me and heard the shelves creaking! Since I live in Central Europe where earthquakes are very rare, very scary thoughts were running through my had and earthquake wasn't even one of them :).

XD I remember my first earthquake. I was in a tatami room and suddenly the walls shook, like just a little. And my host mum poked her head inside and asked if I'd felt it. I was like "huh? but wasn't that the wind ...? O_o;;". <3

I live in central Illinois and have experience a 5.2 earthquake last month and all I did was roll and went back to sleep. I thought I had some weird dizzy moment and told my mom in the morning and she gave me a weird look and said it was the earthquake I felt. Though I slept through the aftershock which was 4.5. Kinda disappointed because I wanted to experience one when I'm awake.
