I was watching some zombie film the other night, missed the full title but the tail end was " Necropolis", and it got me curious. How many different kinds of zombies are there? - I know of these 3 types of zombies:
- The voodoo variety which is basically a living person that made the mistake of crossing a voodoo priest who buries him alive, with special preparations, and then the person comes back more or less brain dead and in that priest's thrall. Soul of said zombie is secured in a special place to facilitate control. Zombie is strong but doesn't actually eat.
- Typical type #1: either through a chemical breach or possibly Hell overflooding with the dead, or something or other, a shambling parody of the living that craves human flesh and moves wuick or slow depending on how much it's rotted. Anyone not fully devoured, or bitten, eventually becomes a zombie too.
- Typical type #2: almost identical to #1 excepting these zombies are more specifically focused on eating the brain matter of the living. Anyone bitten whose brain they didn't get also becomes a zombie. Unlike #1m these can talk...somewhat.
Technically there's two other types, if you count the Marvel Zombies and The Blackest Night storylines. Is there another kind, detailed in text or film, I'm missing out on here? mood: moody music: FOX Evening News |

9:47 PM 9/29/09 · There's an upcoming Marvel Zombies series in the works. Don't have many details but considering how the last series ended, with the zombified heroes realizing they weren't feeling hungry anymore, I'm curious to see how that goes. Will it be the Earth rebuilding with mixed heroes and zombie ones...and then something goes horribly wrong? No idea. Only current Marvel Zombie situation I'm aware of is going down in current issues of Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth. DP gets hired by AIM to track down a biological weapon and it turns out to be the head of his zombified self from another dimension. This all goes down in the Savage Land, most evident recently by the fact that Zombie Wade bit a T·rex and that's not going over so well. Things got further complicated by the fact that AIM's chief rivals, Hydra, have been thrown into the mix...not to mention the bunch of neanderthals that were worshipping the head of Zombie Wade prior to Deadpool stealing him. Not sure where that's going but I can hardly wait to find out. mood: relieved music: NCIS: LA |

...redundant? Sure. 9:28 AM 8/19/09 · I haven't ready any comics in a really long time, some of you may know why, but I recently found a place relatively close by that sells them. One of the things I picked up was Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #1 which is the start of the whole "Head Trip" scenario... ...which involves Deadpool vs. Zombie Deadpool. Sort of. If you didn't catch the last chapter of the whole Marvel Zombies situation, which was more or less Machine Man vs. Zombies, then you probably missed how one of the Marvel Zombies accessed the standard (616) Marvel Universe via the dimensional portals in the Florida Everglades. It was Deadpool. He didn't get very far, though he infected at least one person, before he literally lost his head. The head is back. Deadpool, not the zombie one, is hired by AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics) to retrieve an unspecified biological weapon from the Savage Land. To make a long story short, he finds out it's his zombified counterpart: head on a pike, being worshipped by neanderthals. I haven't read the next issue yet, Smoke Shops tend to be a bit behind the curve on up to date issues, but it looks promising. Now, my question. Not having read Deadpool in a long time I'm a little confused by something. He seems to be talking to himself...or selves. There's what he says, in his typical yellow talking balloon. There's a thought box that's also yellow and then another thought box which is standard white. Short of that situation when Wolverine was mind·controlled by Hydra, where he literally had a programmed other personality mixed in with his own, I've never seen anything like this before. Why is Deadpool talking to himself? What did I miss?? mood: hungry music: 106.9FM KCBS |

1) This is going to just about all of my communities, except a very small number of them. I've invited people that make icons to any number of my communities but haven't always gotten as many icon posts as I'd like; often cuz other members discouraged such posts. So, from now on, those of you that make icons are encouraged to join and post your work at Iconnage·Art... ...which isn't to say you can't keep posting what you do here, but I'd like you to post it there as well. Especially as it's specifically just an icon community I'd love for you to post there more than you do here and as often as possible. This doesn't count icon posts or icon dumps of stuff you didn't make yourself, as some of my communities allow for. 2) Changing one of my standard rules: If you want to advertise any kind of community please do so at We·Need·a·Life and not here. I used to allow advertising in any of my communities if it kept to the theme of that community but I'd like to cut down on that a bit...until it dwindles to nothing. mood: busy music: The Closer |

You know, I was looking at the Tony Stark Kink meme and I figured, we need one for Peter... Now I'm not sure how to do one of these, and I'd love it if people helped me advertise this, but... All prompts and responses can be anonymous, but don't have to be. All pairings, kinks, ideas are allowed, nothing's really forbidden, the only rule is, Peter Parker has to be a part of the pairing. So who wants to play? Directions to the Peter Parker kink meme

Most of my comicbook themed communities all use the same theme, The Boxer. It's functional, it's perfect for my needs...I just like it dammit! It's a paid account required dealio though so I cough up $5 and set it up and then let it go back to basic or plus status and it stays that way. This time, it didn't and I have no idea why. I was very surprised whe th paid status went away and the entire community's appearance reverted to what it is now. After all that time of setting up the background and fing tuning the colors to what I wanted them to be. Sometimes I wonder why I bother. mood: pissed off |
