| Marton Sighting in LA |
[23 Jan 2007|10:30am] |

Just thought you guys would be interested, a friend of a friend spotted Marton on his bike by the beach here in LA last week. So he seems to be in town. Lets hope he's here to make some movie deals, right???
I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind Marton that we have many nice theatres here in LA, so if he's bored while wheeling and dealing with the big wigs in Hwood, he might fain to do a play or two for we Angelenos. (*wbeg*) I know we aren't London, Sydney or NYC, but hey, give us a shot!!!

| Obituary |
[02 Dec 2006|07:26pm] |

The abusive site known as MARTON CSOKAS ARCHIVES and lately THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARTON has finally come to a well deserved end. That domain is no longer in the hands of Sharon Connolly. November 29th, Marton's lawyers, Barnes Morris et al, took ownership and all traces of the former page have been removed.
Christmas has come early this year.

This poster is for the Cannes Film Festival
According to the designer of the RMF poster So it is not poppy cock as reported at MCA !!!
This isn't the final poster, it's the one I produced for Cannes. Despite the prevalence of certain 'styles' of key art, it's actually quite rare that clients ask you to rip off other posters; it's even rarer that you're asked to rip off one of your own posters. See if you can guess which one... I was adamant that this was simply not going to happen, but being a market poster, and therefore being only one poster of 10 I had to do - in 10 days - I simply didn't have time to come up with anything else. And let me say that 10 posters in 10 days is certainly do-able, as long as they don't have to be 10 good posters... Expect this image to change

This news was just posted in one of the Marton Csokas Yahoo discussion groups. I will cross post it at Marton Uncensored.
A member there got a personal e-mail response from the Lyttelton Theatre's casting director. Ben Daniels is indeed the lead for TR and Marton is NOT in it at all.
He sent her the cast list and their respective parts, and although the role of Camille has yet to be cast, there is only one other minor male part for which the same is true. It's a long shot that Marton would be doing that one.
If anyone wants to confirm the info for themselves, just get in touch with the NT box office on-line. This member said that they're all pretty good at getting back to the folks who write them.
You may all quietly sob amongst yourselves.

| Blood, Sex, and Death: Therese Raquin |
[29 Jul 2006|10:52pm] |

I've been reading some stuff about THERESE RAQUIN and it sounds right down Marton's alley. Sexual obsession, jealousy, death, hints of kinkiness, all the stuff he says he loves to play. The story has been very popular, produced many times as a play, a couple of operatic versions, once as a miniseries, two theatrical movies, four television movies, and another film scheduled to shoot soon.
For those who want to read Emile Zola's novel, you can find it online at THERESE RAQUIN
Here's a quickie summary of it from Wikipedia:

[...] Marton Csokas verges on the comic grotesque as the wicked, conniving comendador but his passion, like that of all the best villains, is real under the histrionics. [...]
