If you didn't understand...

About the private server, allow me to explain.
Alright. People run private servers for MS. The reason they can do it is because almost all of the game runs from your client. Meaning, if it didn't need to check the server you could play it as a standalone. The server at Nexon basically performs just two important functions. One is that it's a database for characters, items, etc. The other is that it's a messaging server which allows you all to see and communicate with each other.
The problem with private servers is that servers experience what is called overhead, which is usage. Things like messages and having a database uses a lot of resources. So for someone to run a private server, they need decent hardware. The next problem is that you can't invite a lot of people to a private server because even if you had the horsepower to run your messaging/database server you need a serious internet connection. I haven't used a private server, but my guess is that both the cost of bandwidth and the slow connection is what is keeping them from being bigger or more powerful.
Enter Google. They are offering you the ability to use their servers as YOUR servers. To run transaction-based applications such as...a database or messaging? They have some of the fastest internet connections in the world and they are offering an incredible amount of transfer usage. If someone took their applications to emulate a MS server and put it on Google it would be like a free private server. People could transfer their accounts, edit them, whatever. Anyone who wanted to set up a private server could do so. The "hacked" game/client would simply be intercepted and point towards your private server.
What makes it all legal is that you don't hack your game, but you change how your internet traffic is routed, which is legal. You route it to the private server. And because you're using your own code for a server, you're not stealing from nor infringing upon anything that Nexon has done. They might ask Google to shut these private servers down, but they likely don't have any legal standing because they have essentially screwed up by putting the entire game and EVERYTHING you need on the client/game.
Capice?
