CMX Licenses more from Yu (new titles)
KaiMing Cha from PW's Comics Week has the word on CMX's two newest licenses. And guess what? They are both from the pen of an all-time favorite of mine Yagami Yu creator of the hilarious Those Who Hunt Elves (ADV Manga... on hiatus) and the weird but entertaining Hikkatsu (Go!Comi).

Go West... Well I can't say its his best work. Was everyone into the Wild West back then... I mean didn't Watsuki-sensei also try that? Sumeba Miyako no Cosmos-sou is pretty good though. A little short, the series really left me wanting to read the novels from Achi Taro.

Expect the two from Yu to start next spring with Dokkoida and Go West will follow in November 08. And hopefully TWHE's will be back on shelves by then... I can dream can't I??

just posted an inquiry/suggestion on both of the company's forums about licensing his most well-known those who hunt elves. In fact I'd expect that title to be snagged before these more obscure titles, so that gives me the suspicion that both cmx and go!comi (have head Hikkatsu's quite amusing) were daunted by the fact that adv holds the license, even though it has been now about 4 years since vol 7... I must retain hope that someday i will own beyond vol 8 of this hilarious series, and see how poor celcia's plight could *possibly* get any worse *chuckles*. If you'd like, I'll let you know of any response i get. It also encourages me that TWHE has now returned to serialization in japan since it was apparently the mag's most popular title, so i've not given up yet on getting TWHE back on the shelves. Not to mention the fact that tpop has 'liberated' pmk and tactics from adv, so i still have hope.
