I Just Wanna Be At Home [21 Aug 2008|09:12am] kevenn [ mood | annoyed ] [ music | Sometimes It Be That Way by Jewel ] Yesterday, I just wanted to go to the comic shop and go home and read comics.  Huh. Ray's class went longer, and I was worried about whether I would get to the shop before it closed.  My worry was compounded when I got stuck waiting for a train to go by.  However, I did manage to make it in time before the shop closed.  Oh, but Ray told me that I needed to put some gas in the car and we needed bags to clean up after the dogs go potty outside.  The Target nearby us has been out of poop bags for what seems like forever, and hasn't re-stocked them.  So I'd have to go to a further Target.  And while I was on my way there, the Check Engine light came on to indicate that I was running dangerously low on gas.  I managed to get to a gas station, which was further than I thought, then go to Target.  By the time I got home, it was nearly 9:00.  I felt like my whole evening was getting used up, and I had a lot fo stuff to do - read comics, watch Project Runway (which I'm getting tired of - more on that later), watch Sordid Lives, free my new action figures of their packaging prisons. . . So Project Runway. . .I'm starting to get tired of it.  It's really obvious that the show is being totally manipulated by the producers, and I do not care for their fuckery.  ( Project Runway spoilers and bitching... ) And how awesome was the challenge last night, though?  FUN!  And it was great to see RuPaul again.  :)   And I did get to read all but one of my comics before I went to bed.  Bird of Prey - the new artist was really good last issue, and at the beginning of this issue, but then the art started to really look rushed and more and more simplified.  Don't be doing this.  Keep the quality up! 3 comments|post comment

Picspam: Part 3 [20 Aug 2008|07:22pm] izzatee A very random meet up with the Weblog excos. They made my Sunday (: After piano lesson, went to the National Library to kill time. It was raining heavily and Mandric lent me his umbrella. LOL! & I had Venga to carry it for me. Thank youuuu. Met up with Adha first since she was the first to arrive (Oh, Vengs was late!). While waiting for Fai, I saw Hao Ren at City Hall. We catched up a little, with school, life and work (i'm not working though).  And then there's this conversation:  Him: What is that book?  Me: Oh, erm, Breaking Dawn.  Him: Ah, this book. I've seen girls hugging this book everywhere. Like its a bible or something.  Me: (laughs) OME OMG! You know it too? (Well, i was shocked because he's the only guy that said that, except Venga. It's good that he actually notice that.) Him: So, what's this book all about?  Me: Errr..it's a vampire love story *grins*  Him: (laughs) No wonder... And the rest is history. Adha mentioned to him that he has that 'RP' face. HAHA!  Infact, i had a similar conversation with my father. You bought all these books because it is a vampire story? And when i told him that it is a vampire love story (a love story between Bella & Edward)...he gave that 'oh-i-see' expression and kept quiet. Art For Sale [19 Aug 2008|10:32pm] kevenn [ mood | energetic ] [ music | Beats in My Head ] So, with Mid-Ohio-Con coming up, I wanted to sell art at my table.  The thing I really wanted to sell was some nice-ass prints of my DC artwork.  But I was concerned with selling prints, coz I've heard of DC going after artists selling prints.  I've even had an auction, years ago, where I sold a hand colored print of Wonder Woman characters on E-Bay that was taken down.  However, Mid-Ohio-Con will not have an official DC presence there. I asked an online buddy of mine who is a big-time artist at DC (a super, super talented artist who I admire and respect both artistically and personally - one day I am totally going to hang out with this person, at least at a convention) their opinion.  They said that honestly, DC really doesn't care about prints, that Artist Alley is where young artists make their money, and that the only thing they ever heard of where DC had a problem with prints is someone who had taken a cover for them that they had done (so it was already paid for by DC) and turned it into prints/posters, but that I should print up stuff and sell the hell out of it. This was most awesome news.  It means I'm going to be selling prints of my DC Heroines and DC Villainesses pieces at Mid-Ohio-Con, or at least trying to sell them.  For $50.  They are not cheap to print up, and they're big and cost a lot.  And it means I need to get more of my Heroines piece printed up, since I only have 2 of that one left to sell and that one seems to be the more popular one.  If anyone is interested in buying a print, let me know, coz the more prints I have made up, the cheaper it is for me to have them printed up. On a completely unrelated note, I am the MAN.  I totally re-wired a lamp today.  Not only re-wired it, but bought the cord for the lamp, bought the plug to attach the cord, took the lamp apart and attached the wire to and down into the lamp.  I put it all back together, stuck a bulb in there, plugged it in, and it totally lights up.  GO.  ME.  Never done it before.  Now we just gotta' buy a new shade for the lamp this weekend.  I got some new skillz!!!!! 2 comments|post comment

My Birthday Thank's [19 Aug 2008|03:35pm] sonicsuperslide [ mood | busy ] [ music | Estelle~ Chasing Pavments ] I just wanted to thank you all for the sweet post's and emails and texts and gifts i got for my b-day. wow. thank you for every kind word you said. it was a great birthday! i took the day off from everything but when i got up...Tony was no where to be found and by 8am my phone should have been ringing off the hock from my frinds and family. mom?? no call?? lol. i was starting to think everyone forgot all about my birthday! . But of course....it was just me being me. Tony came in with breakfast for me..he made it himself! i swear...he really is the man. i hung out at thebeach (of course!) this time Tony took the day off too and he went with me! he has been learning to surf and he might not be ready for the surf 100% he sure is almost there. i am proud of him. my friends and family and Tony he is both all got together for dinner at KONA on PCH for my b-day. it was nice and i felt the love. i am always the most happy to see how much my family loves Tony and how much he loves me. thank you again for the Birthday wishes. much love....Marc 4 comments|post comment

aiyooo... where the hell has this summer gone?! Well, he was at home on Friday, while I worked (lucky him, so much use-or-lose government Annual Leave!) - but while filing and doing my normal thing I ordered from JCrew some things I had been holding off on getting all Spring/Summer from JCrew.
