AboutDo you suffer from depression, and well-meaning friends tell you, "Everyone gets depressed sometimes, snap out of it!" Maybe you have chronic fatigue syndrome and your mother thinks you're just lazy, or maybe you have fibromyalgia but people think it's all in your head. Or maybe pregnancy has knocked you flat, but because you haven't been hospitalized, your grandmother thinks you're just whining.
In our society, if you're not bleeding, broken, or on fire, people tend not to believe that you're sick. This community is a support group for everyone with an "invisible" illness, whether it be temporary or chronic.
Right now, the only rule is play nice - please do offer constructive advice to someone if you have it, but don't flame them. If you get advice you don't want, just let it slide - don't flame the person who offered it. We're here to help each other, not to fight.
If you don't see your illness listed in "interests", please tell me and I'll add it.
