Found when checking on DMP's website page for Yellow:

Straight, macho Taki and shy, effeminate Goh are an expert team of bandits hired by the police to steal from the mafia. Lately, Goh has been more interested in acquiring Taki than in the usual caches of arms and drugs. Will Taki and Goh become a new kind of partners?

Considering that I was just fresh from reading this thread of discussion between psycho_moonlil and compli_cait which involved the question of whether the seme/uke dynamics could ever switch between Goh and Taki, I found DMP's description of Yellow particularly hilarious.

Opinions on the previous thread seemed to feel strongly that according to canon, the seme/uke dynamic between the two would not be able to switch. However, from my reading of Yellow and its characters, I would say that Goh would be plenty happy to switch - just as long as it him having sex with Taki, and not some random woman ^^;. It's true that Goh's preference seemed to be for the cute, big-eyed strictly uke-type before, which does argue that he prefers to top, but I truly doubt that he would be against switching if Taki wanted him to.

Interestingly, one of the interviews with Tateno-sensei specifically discussed the seme/uke dynamic a little:

PWCW: In the boys' love genre, the roles of seme [aggressor] and uke [younger, bottom-role player] predominate most stories. But in Yellow, your protagonists, Goh and Taki, are equals. What made you want to create a series where the main characters are free of those roles?

MT: Actually, I had been reading a lot of boys' love and seeing a lot of seme and uke things going on. I like the pairing of Starsky and Hutch--the officer type of story. I wanted to write something like that, something different. And I wanted to make it more difficult for them to get together by making one character gay and one straight.

Your thoughts? Are Goh/Taki strictly a seme/uke couple to you? Are they equal? Are they reversible? Are they 'free' of the typical stereotypes of the roles, or simply playing off them? What does that say of apalling gender identification, since the uke role is generally said to be the projected 'female' of the couple?

.....And the BIGGEST question of all - in what way is Goh "shy and effeminate" and just who is DMP actually paying to write their descriptions?

HERO HEEL (American Version)

Hero Heel will be produced from the same American publisher as YELLOW. It seems that it too will be put into a box set on completion.

One book will be approximately thirteen dollars, American manga fans sure have it tough. It seems that that sort of price isn’t restricted to America, it’s similar overseas, so it’s difficult for fans everywhere.

Nice to see that the mangaka appreciate how tough it is to buy manga at that sort of pricing ^^;; - it isn't comparative to how the original japanese editions are priced at all, although thankfully prices for manga in English have come down from what they used to be!

This is what is said about it:

After looking at the raws available for Aoi Hitsuji no Yume which is about how Laati and Kai (from Steel Moon) got together, I'm totally in love with this couple. I was so intrigued by them in Steel Moon and now they all I wanna read about is them! Forget the idiotic Coyote/Nozomi couple. I'm sorry, but WTF??? It really has no basis. But that's just my opinion. They're hot to look at though. I hope CT scanlates Aoi soon. I can't wait to find out what they're really saying. Heh, it might change my mind. You never know.

I couldn't find the posting rules, so I hope I'm not violating anything.

YELLOW! In Germany, third place!

During the three day autograph session in Germany, it seemed like Tateno-sensei did all the signing and drawing! Although I regret it seems that around thirty people weren't able to get through. It seems I drew a hundred of Taki, and maybe two of Gou. I'm better at drawing Gou's head somehow, so it was quite difficult. In the ranking of the German yearly proceeds, it seems that Yellow came in third. By the way, first place was One Piece! The strength of Jump! Second place was was Tanemura Arina-san’s Shinshi Doumei Cross. It’s a ranking that couldn’t be believed in Japan, isn’t it!? Because underneath Yellow came Naruto!

Apparently there is an anime for the series "Night Head," which was written by Iida Joji. Credits for character design go to You Higuri according to Anime News Network, but Makoto Tateno illustrated the eight-volume manga series.

EDIT: And character designs by You Higuri are confirmed from the translations of her journal. I sort of wonder why they didn't get Makoto Tateno to do it, or simply use the manga designs?

I was asked to post an entry on where to find Yellow fanfics. :)

If you're a fan of Yellow and a fan of fanfics, you probably know that there isn't a Yellow category at Fanfiction.net. What you might not know is that there *are* Yellow fanfics at ff.net. But you have to hunt for them. The second easiest way to find the Yellow fanfics is to go to the Anime Misc category and do a search on the summary for the word "yellow".
