Now that the hiatus of doom has descended upon us, pocketwitch and runawaynun invite you to participate in the

FIFTH MAKE LAURA HAPPY CONTEST

WARNING: The prompt contains spoilers for 4x10 “Revelations.”

The fifth Make Laura Happy challenge will be to make Laura happy ... ON EARTH! Because Laura needs some happiness after that last scene and leaving her for 6+ months in abject misery is just cruel.

The only requirement of this challenge is that Earth be involved somehow. You can use the harsh canon version of Earth that Ron Moore gave us or you can create an AU Earth with its own problems and pleasures. Just make Laura happy ... ON EARTH!

DETAILS

Remember the first and most important requirement, y'all: MAKE LAURA HAPPY. Some of you have asked questions about stories involving angst/drama, so we'd just like to restate and clarify -- these stories do not have to be fluff (although fluff is definitely welcomed). If you include angst/drama in your story, it is totally acceptable as long as the ultimate goal of the story is to MAKE LAURA HAPPY. The goal of this community is to MAKE HER HAPPY and if you need to write some drama/angst in order to get her to happiness? Fine. JUST MAKE HER HAPPY!
The second standing requirement of this community is that the story involves some sort of positive physical touch. Let Laura give or receive some affection. Again, it does not have to be sexual in nature!
For this particular challenge, she must, at some point in the story, be happy on earth.
IMPORTANT – STORIES MAY NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4.5. Speculation is OK. NO SPOILERS. Seasons 1-3 and 4 through “Revelations” are fair game.
We do not have a strict word count requirement, but we would recommend that the stories do not consist of fewer than 500 words or more than 5000. Again, this is "more of a guideline."
You may enter more than once.

SUBMISSIONS

The DEADLINE for submissions is JULY 28, meaning that July 28th is the last day we will be accepting stories for this challenge. Voting will be opened soon after.
All completed entries should be emailed to runawaynun at captkat13@yahoo.com. A Word Document would be best, but don't fret if that's not possible. When I receive your submission, I will send you a confirmation email just so you know that it's arrived safely. I check my email pretty obsessively, so if you don't get a confirmation email from me in 24 hours, you might want to resend it.

vulcanfic bravely offered the story Gifts that she wrote for makelaurahappy (With Airlock) and I hope I did justice in the remix--which, if you're interested, you can find here. (It's MA-as a heads up)

Can I say how amazingly proud of everyone I am this time around? Not that I'm not always, but this batch of stories was particularly brilliant and I am extremely proud of all of them. Voting participation was also great this round - thank you to everyone who contributed and/or voted! The Nun and I appreciate your participation so very much!

Let me also mention briefly that we do intend to continue to Make Laura Happy, but we will likely postpone Challenge #5 until the next hiatus. By then we'll all hopefully be all a-twitter with new material and new ideas. Until then, THANK YOU again, from both the Nun and myself!

Are you ready to join The Nun and The Witch and Make Laura Happy once again? Welcome to ...

THE FOURTH MAKE LAURA HAPPY CHALLENGE!

The fourth Make Laura Happy challenge will be to make Laura happy ... with a CROSSOVER! Because really, why should characters from other fandoms be denied the chance to help us make Laura happy? Happy Laura should be spread far and wide!

The only requirement of this challenge is that a crossover be involved somehow. You can cross Laura over with another show, a book, a movie ... no limitations! And you're also not limited to crossing her over with just one fandom - if you want to be ambitious and do a three-or-more-way crossover? Knock yourself out! And there is no requirement that you actually pair Laura up with a character from another fandom - as usual there is no requirement that you even pair Laura up with anyone; the crossover just has to happen, it doesn't necessarily have to result in a pairing. As long as you make Laura happy ... WITH A CROSSOVER!
