Please subject all roleplays with the following: LJ RP/AIM RP/I RP - OPEN/CLOSED. AIM roleplays and Independent roleplays are defaut closed, but this is an easy way to see which roleplays we can interact in, and which roleplays we can't.

All IC (in character) stuff that is not first person journal entries should be posted here! echoic_magick is a strictly OOC community.
TYPES OF LOGS/POSTING TIPS
AIM roleplay. An AIM roleplay is a complete and finished roleplay that was conducted in the chat program, AOL Instant Messenger, or through email. This can range from two characters to a group roleplay of many characters. When posting an AIM roleplay, please refrain from using chat names (we should be able to identify the characters by reading the log). If it is absolutly necessary though, please edit screennames to character names. This should be posted behind a lj-cut with a rating, list of characters included, and a brief summary before the cut.
LJ roleplay. A LJ ropleplay is a roleplay that begins with a single character posting his or her actions on a lj post and then other players interacting with the single character through comments. Again, this can range from two characters to any number of characters. When posting a LJ roleplay, please lj-cut the actual roleplay and include setting and time, predicted rating, and any character requests or "open to so and so" before the cut.
Independent roleplay. An independent roleplay is a roleplay that is written by a single person. These usually include one character doing a certain action alone, or a character and an NPC interacting (with the mod's permission). These can come in handy for plot expanding and character development of NPCs. Treat I RPs just like AIM RPs as far as posting, and if you would like to write for an NPC, you'll probably need to run it by a mod before posting, so make sure to contact them to get prior permission.
Owls. Owls function the same way they do in the books. They serve to deliver letters from one person to another. Owls in this game can go to other characters with journals or NPCs. Owl replies between two character in the game should be done through replies, not separate posts for each owl. Please lj-cut all owls with the following text: "Owl to name". You may subject the post with the same text. If the owl is urgent, feel free to add an "urgent" at the beginning, but please stick to that basic format. Image signatures are highly suggested, and if you don't have the program to make one, simply ask the mods.
IC annoucements. IC (in character) annoucements is a posting by a teacher or student that all (or select; if designated) students will be able to read. Consider it the same thing as posting an ad in acommon room, or an annoucement by Dumbledore at the beginning of term. If you need to post an annoucement, subject the post "To all students/gryffindors/etc:" and do not post anything behind a LJ-cut, unless absolutly necessary (charts, lists, photos, etc). IC annoucements should be written as if the student or adult was actually writing it on paper. Qudditch annoucements, articles for a school paper, and anything else deemed an annoucement would fall under this category.
