So this hasn't been updated in like ... FOREVER ... 

But for the few that do pass through here every now and then just now that we are in full "Deathly Hallows" Discussion mode over in MM ... in the book 7 forum there are a lot of threads ... some are general book 7 discussions and others deal directly with certain characters, like Severus Snape ... there is also a Book 7 BookClub which is starting on 07/25/07 in which we will do an indepth chapter by chapter book discussion of book 7.  Best way to dissect the last book and every detail of it ... So join in on the fun if you like ... it is not necessary to participate in every chapter discussion but if you do it will be fun and you get lots and lots of points ...

We are about 3 1/2 months away from the movie release, not to mention the book release.  

MM has got a brand NEW forum for the "Deathly Hallows" book so check it out.

That forum is hosting the first HP Dead Pool titled "Book 7 Edition"  ... what's a Dead Pool? Well you take 10 HP characters and you rank them from 1 to 10(1 being the most likely to die, and 10 the least) and you do this by June 15th, 2007 ... when the book comes out we will take stock on who's characters died ... the more characters on your list, the more points you can earn specially if you have ranked them high enough.  So join in on the FUN! .....

Muggles have something to be thankful for next year.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth movie based on J.K. Rowling's hugely popular fantasy series, will hit theaters just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday on Nov. 21, 2008, Warner Bros. has announced.

No word yet on a director or any casting news, but presumably the core players in the Potter films,Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, will return as, respectively, Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Half-Blood Prince will stakes out the traditional Thanksgiving window that the British wiz kid has dominated since he first cast his spell on the big screen in 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The only exceptions to the Turkey Day release strategy have been the third chapter, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which bowed in June 2004, and the upcoming fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, due out July 13, 2007.

The holiday season has proven especially lucrative for Harry and pals. Sorcerer's Stone earned a Gringott-sized $317 million domestically, its follow-up, 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, hauled in $261 million in North American ticket sales, while Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire snagged $289 million domestically. That's a combined $867 million in the U.S. and Canada alone.

The lone summer opening was less successful. Prisoner of Azkaban is the lowest grossing Potter franchise, conjuring up $249 million domestically.

The 672-page Half-Blood Prince arrived on shelves last summer and sold a whopping 6.9 million copies its first day in U.S. bookstores. The story, which picks up with Harry in his sixth year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, focuses on the crisis Lord Voldemort and his followers pose as they challenge the authority of the Ministry of Magic. At the same time, Harry struggles to determine the identity of the Half-Blood Prince, the mysterious owner of a book of magic that aids him as he discovers more details about You-Know-Who's dark past.

The upcoming few weeks there will be some changes made to WizzHards and Muggle Books, the (fan)fiction section of our lovely board. This might mean that sometimes you will not be able to find something in WizzHards or Muggle Books or that you will just be confused. My apologies for this. I hope that in the end it will be easier to find (fan)fiction in both forums and that the two sections will once more be brought back to live.

Changes that will definete be made are: a Master List of Completed MM (Fan) Fiction sorted by genre, a Master List of MM Works in Progress sorted by genre, a (Fan)Fiction Help Section and New Challenges and Awards.

Any suggestions are very much welcomed. Please PM me (riyo@magicalmenagerie) if you have any ideas or just comment here.

After a few months of being away, due in part to the EzHacker crap, the MM Fanfic Challenge is now back ...

Hi Everyone ... Please make sure that you check out the Updated Announcements over at MM which you can view by clicking HERE Basically they highlight some minor changes, mainly in sorting and applying for membership at MM.  Also, it talks about New House Shields that will replace your House Name underneath your screename over at MM and how to go about requesting them so that you are one of the first to get them ...

I've added the link to the new MM application in our Community info Page ... However people should Follow the 2 Step Application Process to expedite the application process... It's fairly simple so it's nothing to worry about ...

What else? Oh yes, I've revamped the Sorting Hat Quiz .. now with people having to wait until they reach 20 posts to be sorted they should have more of a feel for the board and this Quiz makes it extremely difficult to cheat to get a particular House .. what do we hope to accomplish by all these changes?  We hope to get members that will actually participate in the board.  Not just post once or twice and then leave ... People like that vex me because we go through the trouble of sorting them and then they never bother to return ..
