Greetings from Magdalen Hsu-Li
I feel like my head is coming out of the clouds finally. And
FLOAtinG aWaY....The "Smashing The Ceiling" record release and tour
is currently underway. Lots of cool things happening. I'll have more
to tell soon. I know I don't "release" records as swiftly as a major
but a year to write and record and a year to release and tour is
alot for a 3 person label. We do our best...so thanks for your
patience.
Dale and I are donating funds and offering our home to Katrina
victims (especially N.O. musicians). If anyone knows a musician that
needs help please have them email us at the email address below. Our
place would be a great place for them to stay when we're on tour. I
believe my show at Tulane University in New Orleans will be
postponed to a later date. I have not yet been able to contact
anyone from Tulane yet (understandably). But it looks like from
their website their fall semester has been cancelled.
I have joined myspace.com and am going myspace crazy...way too much
time can be spent on that website! So join me in going crazy at

Hmm, I wonder who else in Worcester, MA ordered the CDs? I only dropped my letter in the mail late Friday night, so I'd be pretty surprised if it'd made it from Worcester to Seattle by today, over the holiday weekend. Hmm... EDIT: Well, I guess it was mine after all. I just got a thank you email. :-)
Anyway - spread the word to any other fans you know to get their pre-orders in.

Hey! I just joined this community since I greatly admire Magdalen's work. I first came across her music where I work. I'm currently and undergrad and I have a job on campus at the Stop Violence Office, an office dedicated to raising awareness, educating the campus, and supporting survivors of sexual assault, rape, stalking, and dating/domestic violence. We cosponsored an event with Asian and Pacific Islander student center and brought Magdalen to our campus. So, her CDs popped up in the office and I was struck by her talent and the message she is spreading. So, that's my little introduction. I'm currently a microbiology major, entering my third year in the fall...Oh, and I have an unhealthy obsession with penguins.:) I look forward to getting to know the community members here, and I hope it gets bigger! :)

I'd thought about creating a community for Magdalen Hsu-Li for a while, but the email that I received today (that I posted as the first post) gave me the push I needed to go ahead and do it. I'm actually attending a conference for work this week, so I've been setting things up while sitting on the floor of the conference center in New Orleans using my laptop on the show's WiFi network. When I get home this weekend I'll try to do some more work on the look and feel, and the community info page.
Along those lines, I'm looking for input. What key words do you think should be used? Do you have any URLs for Magdalen related sites that should be linked from the info page? I'm always open to feedback so let me know what you thnk. :-)
