Elver Park fireworks?
I fear the trees on our block have finally grown tall enough that we won't be able to see the fireworks from our driveway this year.  So... anyone here know any good out of the way-ish spots to view the extravaganza?

Thanks!

Eek... I don't know of any publicly accessible ones, unfortunately.

Thanks. I'm having a hard time coming up with any myself.

Yeah.. I was trying to think of some, but the only one I could come up with was the parking lot at work, but it's not technically a public spot to view them from.

Note: Hammersley has no parking signs all up & down the street, signed by the popo, which will be in effect for the show. I don't know if other streets have them, but I'm wondering where the heck everybody will park their cars.

There's some green space in between my small apt complex and the one next door, 3 blocks from EP. Me & the neighbors are cool if anyone wants to throw down a blanket and watch the show. Bonus points for people with BBQ grills and extra beers. I wouldn't recommend that for some of the duplexes, a couple of them have a rougher crowd. Stick to the apts and you'll be OK.

IMO, the best out of the way spot would be in Greentree Chapel Hills Park. About 100 yards south of Schroeder Rd it has a lovely east-west run that should allow unobstructed viewing. Two bike paths run through it for the greenies, one of them goes straight to Elver Park if you wanted to check out the action. Greentree Chapel Hills Park doesn't have much by way of amenities, so you'll want to take chairs and a hibachi or something like that, but it is a nice little park (the east-west part anyway). You'll want to stay out of the conservation/reclamation area that is adjacent to it on the far west side, just on the other side of McKenna from EP, I was told it was an old landfill. Dogs aren't allowed on it either.

Have fun at the show. Happy 4th everybody.
