cat found
There is an orange tabby male with sea green eyes hanging out on our porch. He has no collar or tags & is super friendly, clearly well fed, and has no ear mites. I know he has to belong to someone (fixed and declawed), so if your cat got out and is missing, and fits this description, he's hanging around Division Street across from the Schoepps plant. If he is yours, please come claim him. With all of the traffic on this street, its not a very safe place for a cat to be roaming.

If he's still here in a couple of days, we may consider keeping him.

You can also call animal control to come pick him up if you can catch and confine him until they get there or take him to the DCHS. Then if you do come across the owner they can redeem it through the shelter. A lot of times cats are abandoned by college kinds and such. You also might want to check for a microchip (any vet clinic can do this).

well...honestly, we have been thinking about getting a male cat. Sooo.....I'll post here here and on craigslist and various other places and even put up a couple of flyers. We'll keep leaving food and water for him, and if he is still hanging around next week, it will probably be time take him to the vet to make sure he's in good shape to let around our other 2 cats, then bring him home. If anyone comes calling after that, we'll still hand him over. But he seems to like us and we like him.

I'd also report it to the DCHS (838-0413) in case someone is looking there since it is the county's holding facility and legally it has to have been reported there for seven days before it becomes "yours." One less case for animal services to have to deal with =)

Hmm... I seem to think I've seen that cat in my yard before. I live over on Corry St. near the RR tracks.

unless he did it at night... Seems to usually be pretty dead when I come home from work around 10/11pm.
