Hi, welcome to [info]macro_photo!


This is a community for beginning/amateur or professional photographers to post their photos or questions regarding macro or micro photography, or just for people who express an interest in macro or micro photos.


What is macro photography?


Okay, put yourself back in science class. Are you there? Good. Now, open your science book. See that flower up close? See that butterfly? That is macro photography. Photographing subjects from a very close distance, to show detail that one might otherwise overlook.


What is micro photography?


Again, keep that science book open! Flip to a different page. Do you see that photograph of the fly's eye? That's a micro photo. It's using a microscopic lens to show great detail in a photograph.


As with most communities here on LiveJournal, there are some Rules & Regulations.


Rules & Regulations:

  1. Please post only your own work! No stolen or stock photos, bottom line. If found out that someone has violated copyright laws, they will be immediately banned from this community, and reported to LiveJournal.

  2. If you're posting large photos, or more than 2 at a time, please put behind an lj-cut. If you're unaware of how to use lj-cuts, please refer to this section of the FAQ.

  3. Posting photos that may offend someone else, or someone else may be disturbed by, must be behind an lj-cut. If you're questioning whether or not it may offend someone, it probably would, so go ahead and put it behind a cut to begin with.

  4. Comment! If no one comments, then what kind of community will this become? Please keep it going with constructive criticism.

  5. Comments of a rude or negative behavior will be deleted immediately, and will not be tolerated. Consider this your warning, and you will be banned.

  6. No surveys/quizzes should be posted in here, please post those in your private journal.
