For almost three years, the m-mSlashaholics yahoo group has been part of the fandom and the slash community, bringing writers and readers closer together. Discussion, silliness and some of the fandom's greatest writers have been part of the members' daily life since. But as fandom moved from the yahoo groups community into the livejournal one, we thought it was more than time for us to do the same.

And so, here we are, bringing our unique touch over to the livejournal world. We hope you find here what you are looking for in a slash community.

Let's start with the rules, the faster we're done with them, the faster we can get to the fics:

Membership is moderated. You have to be over 18 to join. Please have your full date of birth in your user info to be approved.

1. This community is for M/M slash of BtVS/AtS characters only.

F/F and heterosexual pairings are accepted as long as they're not the main pairing. Crossovers on the other hand, are welcome and even encouraged, as long as the main pairing has a BtVS/AtS character in it. Friendship fics are also accepted and highly encouraged, as long as the friendship is between two of the guys.

2. No real people slash (RPS) is allowed.

3. Discussion about both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series are accepted and highly encouraged.

4. Fanfiction is the main purpose of this community. Please, make sure that your fanfic contains a full header:

      Author's name: (optional if it is the same as your livejournal handle)
      E-mail address: (optional, but highly recommended)
      Website: (optional)
      Disclaimer:
      Pairing:
      Rating:
      Spoiler warnings: (which episode does your fic derive from)
      Summary:

and any other notes you want to add, in any order you want them to be.

If you have any problems with ratings, just look on the website in the Museum section. On the Fourth Floor you will find at least two essays explaining the ratings in an easy to understand way.

5. The Island has an automated archive. You can upload your stories there after having posted them to the community.

If you don't want your stories to be archived at all, then please make sure to include it in your notes, in the header of your story. If a story doesn't contain such a note, there is a distinct possibility that it will be archived at some point in the future.

6. You can post draft fics as well as PWP and humorous dialogues, all of which are very welcome. Just make sure to label them as such.

7. Feedback is highly recommended. Writers love feedback, it always makes their day, so be nice and send comments to all the wonderful writers on the community.

8. Absolutely NO character bashing or flames will be tolerated. Everyone has and is entitled to their own opinions, so please be civilised. Hate (in any way or form) is the one thing that we will not tolerate. Any flames or what can be considered as such that will be posted on the community will be deleted and the sender will be put on moderated status and be notified by e-mail.

When sending what you think of as constructive critiscism, please send directly to the writer, this way, no one will mistake it for a flame and if the writer do think of it as a flame, then they can deal directly with you.

9. You can post advertisement about your BtVS/Angel related website, mailing list or community, but please don't make it a daily or even weekly event. If you want your website to appear as a Friend on the Island then leave a comment on this post.

VERY IMPORTANT:
10. Every post made to the community must have a subject line.

For fanfics, the subject should look like: Fic: [title], [pairing]. Pairing is not optional.
Anything not related to m/m slash or BtVS/AtS should be labelled as OT. (off topic)
For any discussions, theory, and other posts that are neither fics nor OT, make sure you state what they are about in the subject line.

11. All fics and post longer than ten (10) lines or two (2) paragraphs, as well as any post containing adult material must be placed behind an LJ-cut. For longer fics, only the header and (optionally) a short teaser should be outside of the LJ-cut.

12. Even people who don't own a LJ can comment on the entries here, we will not ban anonymous posting. When posting as 'anonymous' - and the only reason for that would be that you don't own a livejournal - please leave your name/handle/nick. An email address is also preferable if you would like to receive an answer in your mailbox.

If you post any comments anonymously that is against any of the rules cited here, please be aware that your actions might result in us banning anonymous posting, which would affect any and all lj-less lurkers here who would like to be able to participate in the community's life. And so, remember that your actions have consequences that could affect everyone.
