Okay, sorry it's taken so long for things to get figured out, but for those of you who were interested in this idea, I finally have some info. We're just going to use Facebook and Twitter for now but we may move things to LJ further on down the line, as well. If you'd like to go ahead and set up in-character Facebook and Twitter accounts, go right ahead and please link to them in the comments here, so we all know who to add.
If someone already called dibs on a character in the last post I made, their spot is held, unless they'd like to give it up, so please check there before setting anything up!

In episode 1 of season 3, Helena does the tarot card thing which says she will meet a lover, first back to back, then face to face. All the signs point to Alice, but in the end, it is Dylan who is Helena's lover. I was wondering how the whole tarot reading thing related to Dylan because I do not see any connection at all. I hope I'm not rambling.

My friend and I want to set up an L Word RP (roleplay) type thing on Facebook and Twitter and I thought I'd ask you guys if any of you would be interested in joining us. It would be set after the Lez Girls premiere and would be true to the show, with the exception of Jenny and Dana both being alive. No one would have murdered Jenny (or she wouldn't have committed suicide..whatever really happened) and Dana would have beaten her cancer way back when. The only characters that are taken right now are Helena and Dana, but everyone else from Shane to Tina to Carmen to Molly and so on are available! Let me know if you would be interested in taking part in something like that.

I don't know if someone posted a "Who killed Jenny" topic in this community, so I'm sorry if this has been talked about before :X
I've heard and read stuff on the net awhile back, but how true is it that Nikki killed Jenny? I don't think there would be any reason for Nikki to kill Jenny. I thought it was more likely for Jenny to kill Nikki for fucking Shane again! I suspected Alice initially, because she left the room to find Jenny and brought the news that Jenny was dead, but I'm sure L word is not so predictable. I thought it could've been Dylan because at the end, Helena left Dylan after overhearing the conversation between Dylan and Jenny. What do you think?
By the way, is Last Word the final episode of L word? I watch L Word online and I've seen links to season 6 episode 9-12 but I can't access them, so I'm wondering if there is something that I've missed out...

I am a literature phd student (and L word fanatic) writing a paper on dyke/queer invisibility in the advertising industry for my feminist media studies seminar. I will be using portions of the L word to illustrate both the lucrativeness and potential pitfalls of explicit lesbian advertising (Specifically using Dana & Tonya's "first every corporate sponsored celebrity lesbian wedding" + Dana & Nikki and their scum bag agent's 'career killing' public coming out phobias) I'll also be looking at how since SHOtime is premium television programming, it is essentially commercial free, and how Chaiken and the rest use the show as a vehicle for PSAs within the queer community (breast cancer, dont ask dont tell, trans awareness, funding for the arts, etc...)
There was also one thing that Bette mentioned about the WNBA alienating its core audience by not utilizing queer advertising, and I can't remember which episode that conversation was from...
And I know that the characters are LOOSELY based on real life lesbians (Shane > Sally Hershberger, Jenny > Chaiken, (Alice > Guinevere Turner??) - I forget the name of the lesbian museum curator that Bette is allegedly modeled after....
can anyone provide more insight on this one-to-one mapping of fictional characters to their real life personas?
And I know that season 6 just came out on DVD, but does anyone know if they are planning to release an entire box set of all 6 seasons like they did for similar HBO & SHO series??

Hi all! I've just finished watching all of L Word. Yes I've been way behind but I guess it's never too late! Anyway, I fell in love with Bette and Tina right from the beginning, Bette especially. She's just so strong, beautiful and loving deep down inside, everything I could ever want in my partner. After I was done watching all six seasons I actually went back to re-watch episodes where Bette and Tina have emotional connections and sex scenes because I just couldn't stop thinking about them! To the point where I thought I had developed a serious thing toward the character Bette Porter. My heart still beats faster whenever I think of Bette :P Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

I was hoping someone might have some shots from Kate French's photoshoot for Maxim in a higher quality because the only photos I found were around 400 x 500 with text over them. I will love you for the rest of my life if you happen to have them!

My name is Sequoia and I am a graduate student in Counseling Psych and a lesbian. As part of a GLBT course I am researching lesbian parenting; both so that I can help lesbian couples as a counselor, and in preparation of my own parenting goals eventually. I want to include some women’s voices as part of my paper so that it is not just about dry research. I am collecting these perspectives through an online survey, and then I will include snippets in my paper. Everything will be anonymous and only used in this paper. Here is the link to the survey: http://tinyurl.com/yfz4e3h This survey is to get personalized, subjective opinions and experiences about the decision-making and interpersonal process of lesbian couples who became planned parents through donor insemination. To complete this survey, please make sure that you match the following criteria: - you identify as a woman-who-loves-exclusively-women, regardless of the term you choose to use.
- you and another woman decided to become parents through using donor insemination (not adoption, not from previous relationship, etc) such that either you or your partner became pregnant and the intention is to raise the child together as co-mothers.
Feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you feel comfortable, with as much or little detail as you like. This survey will be used in a graduate counseling paper, not in formal research. The results will all be anonymous. Thank you so much for your participation and your inspiration!
