Prompt: Written for the lupin_snape Fantasy Fest 2008. Short fic Prompt #44 -- S&R survived DH. After Harry's revelation, many people owe Severus apology -- including Remus.
Notes: This is my first attempt at a prompt in a fest. Its turning out much longer that I expected. Even if I don't finish this story by the cut-off date, I will finish it because if I don't, I'll drive myself crazy! I also know what it's like to read an unfinished fic. Is there a decent Sirius/Severus/Remus listing that has the same sort of rec list and stuff like our estimable group o'commsibs have put together? I know of a few stories but have been having visions of Sirius/Severus/Remus going through my brain of late and have been wanting to indulge. I'd prefer to find them recommended highly by folks I know, and honestly, you guys have the best taste in our little fandom I've ever come across, so I thought I'd check here first.

I also wish to formally apologize to skitty for being such a SLACKER in regards to her Regency fic. It's in my brain, sweetie, I promise. But with work having been so horrible, hospital trip, then I quit, the ensuing chaos and uncertainty, I just *cannot* get my brain to anything I want it too when it comes to writing. IT WILL GET DONE. I swear it. I just cannot promise when. The end of the year, at most, however. (HUGS)

Also, for those not aware, I have posted a finished Marauders era fic on my journal. *shrug* It's something, if not Snupin. But if anyone has anything on the SSR recs I'd greatly appreciate!

Before I get to the theme search, I thought I'd take a moment to introduce some of our RL/SS resources to newcomers to the community and provide a reminder about the resources to oldtimers.

Moonshadow - the RL/SS archive for both stories and art.
Snupin Central - the RL/SS wiki with links to LOTS of resources and info on the ship's history and significant events.
The Snupin Santa Fest archive - houses all stories and art from Snupin Santa 2005-2007 (soon to be through 2008).
snupin_prophet - a weekly newsletter that rounds up RL/SS related material from Livejournal, Insanejournal, and several different archives.
snupin100 - a RL/SS drabble community featuring weekly challenges.
The Snupin Library - a link list of stories selected by the members of this community as classics or good "starter stories" for newbies to the ship.

And now, on to the theme list search!

How This Works:
I'll determine what the theme is by drawing a theme randomly out of my King Kong trading card tin; the suggested prompts are from a long-ago poll, and when the number of suggestions dwindles enough, I'll open a new poll for new theme list suggestions.

On the first day of each month, I'll post a thematic fic search post (like this one). People will then be free to submit links to stories that fit the thematic search. LURKERS WELCOME! This is your chance to pimp your favorite themed stories even if you normally lurk, and we encourage you to poke your head out and join in. ;)

The search will close at the end of the last day of the month. I'll start compiling the thematic list at Snupin Themes on del.icio.us with a link added to the Thematic Lists page on the RL/SS wiki.

YES, you MAY link your own stories. Self-pimping is allowed (even encouraged). Aside from the Snupin Library, all theme list searches have encouraged self-pimping, so I don't want to see any complaints about your stories not being included on any of the lists. Give us the links, they'll go on the list. I do NOT exclude any suggested stories unless they don't fit the criteria of the search. If you missed the first go-around with a theme search, be patient; I'll post an update request for the old theme lists periodically, so you can catch up and have new material added to the list(s) then.

( OCTOBER THEME SEARCH )

So, you know those fics where the boys have to deal with the anger/guilt of their shared teen years for things like Remus almost accidently getting all werewolf on Severus, or for not standing up for Severus when his friends bullied him? I love those stories. But I really want to read one that also deals with the anger/guilt of Severus accidently siccing the Dark Lord on Remus' best friends, accidently, sorta causing their deaths. Any one read any of those? Any that they loved?

Tomorrow is the last day to submit suggestions for the Snupin Library update. On October 1, I'll be posting a new theme list search, and the Library will be CLOSED to new additions for another year. Speak now or hold your peace (and no complaining that it hasn't been updated, that your stories aren't on it, and/or that your favorite genre isn't represented well enough when only 8 people have offered suggestions for new additions so far).

Calling all artists!

As you all should know, we have a physical Snupin calendar that runs until June, 2009. Rather than try to put together another year-spanning calendar for July 2009 - June 2010, I thought it might be fun to bridge the gap with desktop calendars.

If you don't know what a desktop calendar is, I found some examples on Deviantart here, here, here, here, and here.

I'm looking for at least 12 artists to create desktop calendar images for Snape/Lupin for 2009. To participate, all you have to do is...

( I can’t remember what comes first; is it the hurt or knowing that it hurts? Ever since I turned my life around, it still happens time to time. Don’t know what pain was yours or what pain was mine. )

Just a quick reminder that the search for new additions to the Snupin Library will end on September 30. Details on what we're looking for are here on Insanejournal and here on Livejournal.

As a side note, the new layout on del.icio.us has screwed up my tagging system for the Library, so if you want to search the Library by genre, you need to expand the Tag Bundles, then expand "Genre" by clicking the little arrow next to it. That will give you a complete list of genres (pwp, dark fic, hurt/comfort, etc) so you can see what's available.

You can also search the library with Author and Rating tags.

I'd strongly suggest collapsing the "All Tags" section and navigating by Tag Bundles, since that will be easier and more organized to view.
