Is anyone else getting a bunch of spam with fake Britney Spears headlines? I didn't think much of the handful I got last night, but my spam filter is catching more as the morning goes on.

I have to admit, they're inventive (and a bit offensive). This one just popped up: World's Muslims Reject Britney's Conversion to Islam. I'm just glad that the various vagina ones seemed to have stopped. o_0 (You don't even want to know. There were comments about her head-shaving incident and also the fact that her vagina could shoot down satellites. IDEK?!)

I don't usually go for celebrity gossip and pics and stuff - usually that activity annoys the hell out of me.

But the Degeneres-Di Rossi wedding pictures are gorgeous.

I'd go into detail about it, but I'm saving it for when I need another time to express to get out all the awful feelings from the system. I've been telling a lot of people, partly because I want everyone to know how I (and the other girl) was fooled BIG TIME, and partly because telling others makes me not bottle it up inside me and sit there and stink and make me feel awful.

I'd just like to quote John Mayer from this TMZ interview --

"I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out."

And I wish the boy who I had given so much of myself had the same balls.

On why relationships generally end: "You’re either a cheater or you breakup."

I'd rather be told that someone doesn't want to be with me anymore, than be made to think that we're still together when he also has someone else.

There's no 'betrayed' mood? What bullshit.

So, we're still waiting for Fay to actually come. She's currently stationary somewhere over the Atlantic, just a big south of here.

Not bad. I like to think I'm an adventurous eater.

...I don't know what the hell is up with Ember, but something is. I have the sneaking suspicion she's realized, somehow, that I'm leaving for the weekend. She's clingy as hell and keeps wandering back into my roomand jumping on the bed and crying at me. (And Lord but can this cat cry. It breaks my heart.) And now she's curled up with me again.

Normally, at this time of the day, Ember is downstairs looking out the window or playing with a spring, but definitely doing the "indulging in built up energy" deal. I gave her extra food and water in case that's it, but it doesn't seem to be.

I don't know how Ember knows these things. I don't know how she knows half the stuff she does, and I freely admit that I suspect she understands more English than any pet I've ever had or met. And every so often I eye her suspiciously and wonder if she's an alien species desceneded upon our planet to conquer it by making all dog-lovers trust her.

But any which way, it's awfully nice to have a small fuzzy warm thing snuggle up against you and appear to be fretting over you when you're not feeling so well.

On the bright side, my two days of hell seem to have settled and at least today my gut does not feel on fire. (I apparently need to have milk on hand at all times. It does wonders. Mmm, cow juice.)

Plans for today involve finishing up my Great Laundry Loads (AKA washing almost everything I own, which I've been working on for a bit here), making a PDF file with a template for a heath journal in it and posting it here and on my Lyme site, some cleaning, and sleeping my ass off. Because that way, I will be up late tonight and tomorrow I will be able to sleep through the ten hour car ride.

And I've managed to get the less-pleasant meds down, so now I nap. When I wake up, in theory, the pain in my shins will be gone! (And in other places. One would hope. The shins are just the part that's most unpleasant.)

Watching Pushing Daisies. I totally get the Lee Pace thing. He is so cute. I am also watching Wonderfalls.

Heh. This is what happens when I don't look at the internet for a whole evening. There's a new Fandomsecrets anon fic prompt meme and by the time I found it a) there were already 730 comments and b) I was at work. I loved the last one they did, it was so cracky, and it ended up with me accidentally writing really odd Hellboy/Neverwhere crossover fic.

Edit: I could keep a whole list of pairing and fic ideas I'm really glad someone's requested, but I will just say YES Tony Stark/Bruce Wayne someone please write the fic already.

Well, with a promise like that, how could I resist?

And it was amazing: the songs were amazing, the young actors (from the Youth Music Theatre) were outstanding: even with Death predictably and absolutely stealing the show, the human characters all held their own and had me squealing loudly in delight. It had obviously been written and staged by people who loved the source material very very much, and stayed absolutely true to the spirit of the book. Some of the lyrics were so Pratchettesque that I found myself wondering if the book had actually been written in verse and I hadn't noticed.

It was the first stage show I've seen of the Discworld, and I loved the way Death was done - a very talented young actor hiding in a cape behind a fully articulated seven foot skeleton, one hand of which had interchangeable props, such as a scythe, a sword, and for one of the most dramatic scenes, a spatula.

If you are at all anywhere near Guildford, Surrey, UK, I highly recommend you go and catch it this week: the last night is this Saturday, so you'll have to be quick. If you can't get to see it, you can see pictures of Death and hear a couple of the songs at the composer's website. And of course there's this video of Death in action. 

This is the most appropriate this icon has ever been.
