Well, is on the last page of "Love, Lucy"...Lucille Ball's autobiography, and that book was absolutely wonderful. i actually found it an easier read than Desi's "A Book", but both were great...and definitely recommends each :)

calls myself a proud Lucille Ball fan: has all seasons on DVD including the "Lucy/Desi Comedy Hour", and I finally went ahead and bought an "I Love Lucy" purse...it has the picture with Lucy & Ricky on the couch at home...and came with a matching wallet/checkbook cover. hee! go e-bay!

anyway, it was so funny. tonight im out to dinner with my boyfriend (well, we were sitting at the bar waiting for my family to arrive for my grandmother's birthday), and i had several people comment on how adorable the bag was.

there was an old guy next to my boyfriend who kept wanting to see it closer, and he says, "Do you know who those two are?"

Me: *stares at him in disbelief*

nooooo, i just randomly bought a bag with people on it and i had no clue why. XD but it was sweet the way he did say it.

and when grandmother saw the bag, she goes, "Oooh, that's Desi and...oh what's her name???" O.O

wow. seriously, i am in LOVE with our classic couple :)

I was listening to the radio for the past day or so while home sick, and I heard this great commercial. Lucie Arnaz I believe is going to be performing at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia in early March! :-D i had to clear my ears a bit to make sure i wasn't dreaming. so for those of you who are either from the PA area or have the ability to get there, figured id let you know :) I googled "Philly Pops" and found the website link.

also, i found another great Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz find on amazon.com today. i got a "I Love Lucy's Greatest Hits" that includes babalu, cuban pete, lady in red, etc. yay! i can't wait to get that in the mail.

I've been dating someone for two weeks, and he did the most incredible thing for me this morning. he sent to my office a vase full of roses & red carnations.

the carnations were extra special to me, because i remember a passage in "A Book" by Desi Arnaz, that they were Lucy's favorite flower, & he used to send her those every year on their anniversary even after they divorced for real. :-D i told him this because he knows i have a bit of an addiction to "I Love Lucy", and he seemed extra pleased by the outcome of his very thoughtful gift. :-D

and he was there when i changed my lightswitch covers to the "job switching" scene with Lucy & Ethel working together and trying to wrap the candies...it says, I was a dipper from way back hehe. very nice in deed ;)

This is absolutely awesome, guys, for those who haven't read it. I am completely moved by everything Desi has written about his life, and am just getting to the part where he finally marries Lucy.

You feel like you were there watching as everything is happening...the description is incredible.

I just got my Lucy & Desi real life scrapbook from amazon.com in the mail today :-D I initially saw it through Cathy's Closet, but since UPS is such a pain in the arse, i bought it "used". the scrapbook hadn't even been taken out of the plastic wrap, so it was pretty much brand new...sweet! this is an incredible find, because it has all sorts of pictures, newspaper clippings, realistic replicas of birth certificates, marriage certificates, Desi's passport etc. i am absolutely THRILLED to own it and hopefully can scan a few of the items so you guys can see. :-D

would highly recommend this book for lucy fans!

I found I had Photostudio 5.5 that came with my new Canon Elph digital camera, so I've been using that to mess around with screen caps, & this is what came up as a result. I created two wallpapers :-D let me know what you think!

I love how this one turned out--i originally was unsure of the "old fashioned photo" look but once it was finished, it struck me as being actually quite nice. :) perfect for the situation ;) and for those of you who just want the boys on your desktop, this is for you!

if anyone has any screencap/wallpaper requests, let me know & ill see if i cant help you out with that...i am still a fair beginner with this stuff so i cant do anything fancy yet. but this is an idea of the extent that i can work with. enjoy!

I've been watching & re-watching my "I Love Lucy" DVD's, and I had a quickie...

Squeeze comb lilt home permanent...

that's probably equal to what we use today for hair dye, right? or henna rinse (i know that's what Lucy used to make her hair red--at least, in the show lol!)?

i seriously love watching those old product promotions, esp. "Instant Sanka: a brand of coffee you can drink as strong as you like and it wont upset your nerves." *giggle*

amazing how commercials have changed SO much over the years! i would love to be transported back into the "I love lucy" era for a day...

but anyway, that's it :)

oh yeah--and i'm going to be absolutely insane and eventually write a "Titanic"/"I Love Lucy" crossover--would you folks be interested in reading it once i start?

I also ordered the Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz official scrapbook--i cant wait!!!

It's relatively small right now, but I have a pretty tiny apartment & not space for a lot of stuff.

one of you asked to see what the lucy kitchen stuff looked like...i ordered it all from Cathy's Closet, which is a great shop for Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz memorabillia. :-D

Magnets on my fridge :-D "Job Switching" is probably one of my favorite episodes; never makes you think of chocolate the same way again! and of course, i love the foursome shot--Fred & Ethel are <3.

"California, here we come!" I also have this mousepad for my computer at work hehe! along with a nice glossy black and white photo of Desi/Lucy hugging on my cubicle wall ;) I always get compliments on the hehe!

i have another magnet that says Ricky es un grande stinkeroo, but the lighting wasn't good enough for the pic to turn out properly--d'oh!

my "Lucy" towels...this was a great set. i love the stick figures hehe!

I found this irresistable ;) my wallet...i was tempted to get a purse, but i felt that might go too far...you're always safe with a wallet, though :-)

of course, i also have seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, & 6 on DVD...i forgot about 5 when i was buying them--d'oh! but i'll be getting 5 via netflix to watch.

I recently joined this community because I've been a BIG "I Love Lucy" fan for years! I took a bit of a break from the show because my work hours didn't accomodate the re-run hours. but now i have weekends off and was able to see the marathons on Saturday/Sunday morning.

however, I decided after a while to buy the boxed set of DVD's and i haven't regretted it one bit. i can never get tired of the classic-ness of ILL...i am missing season 5, though, but i've rented that through netflix ;) hehe.

my kitchen is also decorated in "I Love Lucy" style--i have towels & an ovem mit with the cartoon characters of Lucy & Ricky hehe--very cute! and magnets all over my fridge. it's fun!

i've just started learning to make graphics & icons, so hopefully i'll be able to share some stuff with you later on. hee!

just started reading "A Book" by Desi Arnaz...he's such an awesome person! Ricky probably is my favorite character besides Ethel. hehe!

I have a rather random request:

Fisrtly, I must point out that I've just seen the most fantastic picture of Lucy in a book entitled "Funny Ladies." I almost bought said book, but then I realized that I was broke, and life essentially went downhill after that.

Here's my request, if anyone happens to have that book, and could perchance scan the black and white picture at the end of the blurb about her, I would be forever grateful. It was most lovely and I almost started crying right there in the store!

also, this is OT, but i figure we're all b&w tv fans and i really don't know anyone else who would care about

did anyone watch that weird leave it to beaver tonight, with the different ward and wally, and fred rutherford was some other dude at ...a milk factory? (doubly confusing for me because i still don't understand how fred rutherford could be the cleavers' neighbor and the petries' neighbor at the same time) and mr wilson from dennis the menace was there too, and they hoisted a bike up to their bedroom window?

SO BIZARRE! i've seen every episode of leave it to beaver 28793 times, and i didn't even know this existed. VERY strange. it makes me wonder, maybe that other ward would've been a better father than ward 2.0, because i really question his and june's parenting skills sometimes... remember when beaver cut big chunks of his hair and ward was mad but june was just embarassed that he looked so weird and said she'd have to SEND HIM AWAY until it grew back?

i mean WTF?!?!

anyway, sorry, thanks for letting me rant about old tv, i have exactly NO actual friends who care about this silly stuff. :)
