Hi everyone! P-chan here once again ^_^ I just wanted to pop on by and let you guys know what LS has been up to since finishing up Code Blue. We're moving forward (slowly but surely) with Ningen Shikkaku as well as Isshun no Kaze ni Nare (Isshun 2 will be out whenever I stop being lazy and encode the darn thing >_<). At the moment we are putting the Kurosagi movie first. Because we had some difficulty with the raw file, the production time really got delayed. Big thanks to Ri-chan from Kioku for helping us solve the audio issue. No audio = no timing T_T For those of you who read Kioku's LJ entries, you'd be aware of Ri-chan's 2 week trip to Japan. For those that don't, well you know now =p Ri-chan is part of the Kurosagi subbing team and we hope to expect her back on the project once she returns (and return with lots of awesome photos to show me!! XD). I really wouldn't expect this project to be out anytime before early November.
But anyway for the second part of my entry. Remember when I have mentioned that I have caught some kind of virus and that kinda made subbing extremely difficult since I couldn't use my desktop computer (again, kudos to all of you who gave me and the community great links to anti-virus programs)? Well I caught something again... BUT!!! this time I really caught the culprit this time. I'm sure you guys will find this hard to believe but I have finally caught it in action. It's coming from D-Addicts. Because D-Addicts do have advertisements on their page and it is streamed from an outside source, it has become a place for what they call "drive by downloads." It is called that because the user is usually not aware that something is being downloaded (even though you're not actually hitting a download button, all images and pages are downloaded to your computer in temporary files). You can catch something just by visiting a website. D-Addicts probably doesn't know about this problem at all but there isn't anything they can do about it. I strongly encourage all of you to have some sort of anti-virus program on your computer(s) and make sure they are updated and also loaded with realtime scanning. We can catch something even on our usual favorite websites without knowing. I thought I'd throw this piece of info out there since I'm sure most of us do use d-addicts a lot and lots of other sites. Definitely want to make sure that all of our computers are protected from harm. Nothing sucks more than losing hundreds of files and drama episodes!
EDIT: Just because I got something from D-A doesn't mean that's the only place I got all my spyware, adware, and viruses from. One thing I noticed was that from time to time on D-A, my computer would make more noise than usual and I can see on the status bar that it is trying to connect to some unknown site. You won't catch something on the same site and every time. That's why it's a "drive by download". ANY site can have something... especially if it has advertisements or anything streaming in from an outside source. This time, after I saw my computer working harder than usual, I didn't try to stop what's going on but instead watched it to see what would happen and afterwards I got so many ads popping up it was driving me crazy.
