extinctfables

September 18 – 20th FatesDawn £25/£30/Free

October 23rd - 25th Fairytales £30/£35/Free

 Once Upon a Time . . .

Once again the church has need of its quiet agents.

In Wales a small village weeps for the loss of its children, bandits infest the nearby caves and woodland driving fears before them and making audacious claims against the village’s new headman.

Can these children be saved?

What terrible fate has stolen these children from there homes?

Only your cunning and stout heart can be relied on to answer these questions.

Hello Folks,

I'm looking for NPC crew for an EOS event on the 10th-12th of July at Pikespool camp site near bromsgrove, just south of Birmingham. It is a high fantasy fest system set in a post apocolyptic world with an amazing rule set and in depth plot. The roles are ones that are mostly full time NPC roles so you get a chance to really get your teeth into the role and also into the system and weekends plot (I tend to isolate my NPC's form the plot to allow them to effectivley play it, which blends them into the player landscaep).

If you are interested, or know someone who is then please get in touch as soon as you can to

stuart.maher@tor-vak.co.uk. Or just reply here.

It seems the high I was on after the 1st Maelstrom of the year has suddenly gone and I find myself a bit mopey.

Has anyone else experienced this sort of feeling after LARP events and if so what do you do to cheer yourself up?

Of course, the same principle applies to anything that relies on volunteers, not just football. Anyone who's worn the high-vis at a LRP fest event should know what I mean.

4:07 pm - Hope its OK to post this

rebelfilms

The community theatre group I founded is having to sell on a prop, that may  be of use to anyone into LARP or theatre, or filming, or SCA or re-enactment of things of that ilk. Its a large oak barrel, 3.5 feet by 2, in very good condition. Sadly we dont have room to store it any more as one of our members who was looking after it is moving.

Its on Ebay, pickup only, (rather too large and heavy to put in a parcel!!!) in Brixham, South Devon, England

I hope its OK to post this. (if not, delete... and no hard feelings ) I dont usually post my ebayings other than on dedicated Ebay-auction-listings comms , but I thought this might be OK as its relevant interest".

All profits from the sale go straight back into our theatre group funds.

9:23 am - Wyvernstales larp Day Events

extinctfables

Good Day All,

Just a quick note about a new direction for wyvernstales running in Southampton.

We are planning to run day events, but only when enough players want them. We are willing to travel with enough notice and to run the event in your area (to be honest this is true if you want longer events as well provided we are given enough notice and a viable site).

All you have to do is check out the forum and the calendar to make sure there is nothing else going on and give me an email or a ring (07852 107 649 / http://www.wyvernstaleslarp.webs.com/)

We are running:

Fatesdawn one shots, specific group events designed to further plot lines and give pro-active players a chance to move there own agendas forward.

FairyTales day events, one shots based on 12th century occult investigation. Normal people desperately trying to stay alive in a dangerous world.

We are also looking into a high fantasy system, newly created races trying to survive and thrive in the Gods playground.

Price will be:
£10 Non-members
£5  Members
Free Crew

Starting at 10AM going on without a break until approximately 5PM followed by a debrief.

1:22 pm - New Group

balphor

Hi all,

If anyone is interested my new group is looking for members to play in the Curious Pastimes system.

The group is called 'House of Black and White' - you can find a public group on Facebook - we're basically a religious group that worships a non-evil god of death.

If you haven't played at CP beofre and never really been interested in the groups or maybe haven't found a cool group - or even just want to give it a try - come a talk to us - I'm sure you'll find soemthing to suit you in the House!

We're based in Essex, have regular training events, huge tent and lots of funkycool equipment. We have equipment to spare and I can make constumes on the cheap. I've been running Lrp games for about 3 years and I've had a wargames club for a further 8.

So come talk! We're here to have fun after all!

10:04 pm - Stargate LRP Event, Double Edged Sword

absintheskiss

Based on the long running series and film of the same name, the Stargate LARP is a modern day system where the UK based Stargate programme goes out into the universe, making friends and protecting the earth from her enemies.

Time in will be at 7pm on Friday carrying through to 4pm on the Sunday.  It will be 24 hours time in, however crew and players do need their sleep so we do not expect the overnight watches to occur of old.  But, if you are up, and out of your tent and in an IC area we would ask you to remain IC, and if there are refs and crew about, then maybe, just maybe something may happen…

This will be a camping event.  Separate IC and OC camping areas will be allocated.

There are two IC huts but they will be used for operational purposes (ie armoury, infirmary, comms, engineering, brig, decon etc), it also means folks can RP until 4am if they wish to and not disturb anyone’s sleep.  Obviously if the weather is particularly foul we may reconsider this at the time.

This is a self catering event, but the IC huts do have kitchens which can be used so you can at least prepare hot food if you need to, and especially the great British cup of tea!

Cost will be £60 on the understanding that players will be asked to crew one mission.  If you do not wish to crew, then as usual the cost is £10 more.

We are keen to recruit crew so we can make sure this is the best Stargate event ever.  If you have fancied coming to a game, or want to try something new this is an ideal opportunity to try out the system.

So, why crew?

  • Wide range of NPC roles available so there is potential for excellent role playing as well as combat for those that want it.
  • Accommodation provided - you just need your sleeping bag and mat/bed.
  • Crewing is FREE.  A great way to try out a new system.
  • Downtimes towards characters – Crew gain downtime slots which can be allocated to their character.  So, if you are new and decide after crewing this event you want to play on the next one, your character gets the points.

Site Facilities –

Hot showers

Fully functioning kitchen.

So if you are interested or need more details, please contact – o.chase (at) ntlworld (dot) com, or visit the forums and website below.

11:48 pm - A HUGE favour!!!

extinctfables

I am running an event on the 13th - 15th of Febuary.

I know this is over the vallentines weekend and I honestly thought that I wasnt going to get enough players.
Suddenly it seems like I have over 15 (if they all pay up) and despretly need crew.

If you are coming to play then dont suddenly change your plans, but we DESPRETLY need crew to be either vickings, or animal spirits and a whole bundle of other wierd and fun things.
It will be free to crew and you get to sleep in a lovely round house in an iron age village!
We can provide kit etc.

This is the site: http://www.legionofdreams.com/location.htm

This is the system: http://www.fatesdawnlrp.webs.com/

Someone who can help me get there would be greatly apreciated also! ;)

Thanks in advance!
