Community Profile

The purpose of this LiveJournal community is to keep a list of good, according to the maintainer's tastes, LOVELESS fanfiction and fanart. What you can find here are recommendations, but not only a list of stories and/or links to images. enchanter writes reviews for every story she recommends (more or less detailed, depending), so that you know what you are going to read, should you trust her taste and give them a go.

To make things short and sweet: It is a community and not a journal because when I started the community, I intended to invite others, every once in a while, to post their own recs. So far, apart from mine, you can also find recommendations by Kiyoshi.

Posting access is restricted; you do not need to join the community to read it, though if you want to, you are more than welcome. If you would like to join as a reviewer, please send an email to rhea_vigilant at hotmail.com with two example reviews, some info about you and how often you would like to post.

What kind of fanfiction/fanart do I recommend?

Any rating, any pairing (also gen fics). I freely admit to having a definite preference in regards to pairings in LOVELESS (that being Kio/Soubi), but that's personal - as a maintainer of a general rec community for the fandom, I will not say no to any piece of good fanfiction. I will, however, state right here that I do not tend to rec het fics, but if I stumble upon a really good one, I will by no means discriminate against it. I love well-done Seimei stories. I tend to be wary when it comes down to full-fledged alternate universe (of the 'everyone is in high school' variety, to name one), but again, it's all in the writing. Pre- and post-series stories tend to be my favorites.

As for fanart, I do not prefer any one style or character. I recommend what I like; my opinion is purely subjective, and I can only hope you will find what I enjoy to your liking, as well. This applies to anything you will see linked in this community. If a story does not appear here, it does not mean it isn't good - it merely means that I either haven't gotten to it yet, I don't know it exists, or it doesn't match my specific tastes. Quality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Should you disagree with any of my reviews, discussion is welcome under the condition that it remains respectful and civil.

Feel free to point me towards good fanfiction and/or fanart. If you think you know a good story that I might like, leave a comment anywhere in the community with a link and a short summary (characters and/or rating will do), and I will check it out. Self-promoting is okay, as well. The only rule is that it has to be well-written. Good grammar and spelling are a must. It goes without saying that the characters must be... well... in character. =)
