Heyyy yaa'lllllll! So I just wanted to quickly update everyone. loveicon is on... a long.. long hiatus. And I can't say for sure if I will be back or not -- it just depends if life stays as busy as it's been or not. Either way, I wanted to apologize to everyone who purchased something in my previous post. I refunded your money, so let me know if you didn't receive that. I just never could find the time to get all of those icons and textures and layouts done, so I apologize for that x 1,000,000. Thanks everyone for being so supportive... I hope to see you all around soon. ;)

Just letting those of you who bought something from me know that I am working on your order -- it's just taking longer than I expected. I'm in a huge predicament (money-wise) and need any help I can get. Here's what's going on, feel free to skip it if you'd like: I'm broke. No money in the bank. Had to pay rent and bills and pay for gas and pay off my credit card, etc. etc. My Paypal balance somehow became negative (-$25) as well and it continues to try to take money out of the bank to make up for it. Each time Paypal tries to take the money out, I get an 'insufficient funds' fee (one fee was $75) and my bank account goes further into the negatives. SO. Long story short, I'm desperate right now to get my Paypal balance back into the positives so it doesn't keep scraping into my bank account and putting me further in debt.

I hate asking for money, so I'm going to [attempt to] sell my services. :P

Hiatus time. I just started working at a new job and can't find the time to update or read hardly any of my flist entries. I don't know how long it will last, and I may pop in every now and again, but don't get too worried if you don't hear from me for a while. This goes for fixthisicon and lovelamp. Other communities like theoffice_eps and musicfood shouldn't be affected by the hiatus. (theoffice_eps doesn't have much going on anyway, and a good number of people can still post in musicfood.)

Anyway, just a heads up! I hope everyone is doing well. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, stay classy, LJ. ;)

I was playing in Photoshop and created a few icon-sized gradient/light-texture type things. [Vocabulary, much?]

So I wanted to see if everyone liked the idea (thumbs up?) or hated it (thumbs downnn!)

I was thinking they would best be used on "Linear Light" - like here:


But it turns out they work pretty nicely on other blending modes - like here:


Anyway, should I make more? y/n? =]

So some of you may know that PNG files have the ability to be transparent... but whether or not the transparency works depends on your browser. So I'm going to test a few icons, and please do let me know if the transparency works for you or not. These icons should have transparent corners/tops/circles/etc. If the transparency isn't working, those things will be white. If it does work, it should just blend into the black background (transparent.)



If the transparency works for most of you, I'm going to keep playing around with it on my future icons. If not, there's no point. =)

For specifics: #1 should have transparent rounded corners. #2 should just be a circle - no white around the circle. #3 should have transparent rounded corners on the left side. Don't worry about #4 - it's just partially transparent in the black and white. #5 should have a black outline circle around the girl. #6 should have a black tunnel-like effect on the top. #7 should be black except for the text and image/outline of Emily.

I'm going to be out of town for the weekend, so I figured I'd post a few more of the icon requests. All are shareable. Enjoy!
