As though my
graduation present weren't enough, today Kathleen demonstrated once again why she's the best friend ever.
She called on her way home from school, as she often does. In the middle of chatting, she mentioned that she's actually
reading my book. Then she wanted to talk for a few minutes about some of the things she'd read, and told me how much she'd enjoyed a particular example. I mean, she's
really reading it. It's the first time I've had a conversation about the book with someone--aside from my co-author or (some) editors, of course--who'd actually read it. It was a little weird, and also very cool.
I told Kathleen she didn't have to put herself through that kind of pain, but she insists that it might actually help her with a certain role she holds. I still think she's crazy, but seriously, I could not love her more for it.
