I was at a rally for Christine Innes, the Liberal candidate for Trinity-Spadina, featuring former Prime Minister Paul Martin at Dragon City in Chinatown. As some may or may not recall, I was never a huge fan of Paul Martin but he was very impressive, reminded me why people liked him so much.
On the other hand, I was most unimpressed with a reporter from OMNI News who questioned Ms. Innes on some criticism that Jim Karygiannis made in regards to Jack Layton and Olivia Chow. The reporter asked why a candidate in another riding was criticizing another candidate outside his riding and if this kind of behaviour was representative of the overall Liberal campaign. She then went on to ask if such criticisms were illustrative of Jim Karygiannias having a dislike of Chinese women, which just blew my fucking mind.
To insinuate that Mr. Karygiannis hates Chinese women simply on the basis of a criticism he had of Olivia Chow is absolutely ridiculous and quite frankly I was offended by such an insinuation. It's just such a huge irrational jump in logic, full of presumption and sensationalism. Mr. Karygiannis is the MP in a riding with a sizable Chinese population, to put forward that he may be racist towards Chinese women is wholly offensive and ridiculous "journalism."
It's harmful for democracy if a candidate cannot criticize a candidate belonging to a minority group without being assailed as a prejudiced against that group. I'm going to write a complaint to OMNI news later, that bitch was out of line
I later went to an all-candidates debate for Trinity-Spadina, which is the riding next to my riding of Toronto-Centre and is also home to the University of Toronto. Though I had canvassed for Ms. Innes a few times already I did not really know her very well but after watching her performance last night I have to say that I was really impressed. She was articulate, succinct and knew the issues, I was especially impressed with how she handled herself in regards to the environment, which as most of you know is an issue that has increasingly become important to me.
The Conservative candidate was being brutalized by the audience who jeered at her from her opening-statement on. One almost might feel sorry for her but she was ridiculous, spent the night reading off numbers, was detached from the issues, show very little insight and was essentially a good little Harper puppet. The audience gave her hell and I can't say I did not contribute with some heckling here and there myself... it was a most enjoyable evening ♥

Quick note~
As I have to be up at 5am so I can be at the hospital for my OR clinical at 6am, if you see me still on tonight at 11pm (CST) scold me and refuse to do anything with me.
Also, I love Subway's meatball subs. Best $5 I've spent all week.

I haven't checked out many of the new series yet. For most of them I'm just waiting to hear what others think of them before checking anything out. I watched Casshern Sins yesterday and enjoyed it (although I am pretty confused about the story right now, perhaps I should research the previous series), and I plan on watching Kuroshitsuji later today. My Fall Seaon Watched List may be pathetically short, but one series has definitely emerged as a winner. Tales of the Abyss.
I had been wanting to play the game for AGES, but I wanted to finish Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Legendia first (yes, I know they don't connect, but I felt I should play them in order). I'm only about 30% done with Legendia, so I kept refusing the urge to buy Abyss.
But dammit, watching the first episode pushed me over the edge. As soon as it finished, I bought the game. The anime was so pretty and the characters seemed so interesting, I can't wait to play it! Sorry, huge stack of games I haven't finished, I think I'll be spending all my non-work and non-cosplay time on this game!
STUPID SHOW. STUPID GAME.

So, this was too hilarious and horrifying not to share.
We have an exam coming up on Thursday in my International Management class that includes the geography of Europe. This girl who sits near me in Career Development was studying her maps before class and this kid who sits on the other side of her leans over to look.

Tegoshi on the Nutty radio radio show Quality is awesome, Tesshi is adorb as usual, and the girl sounds like if Shinigami-sama had a cute daughter that talked like him. ... 'cause i've done clana icons lol. not to be mean really lol, but smallville's lana lang is for me like, the worst charatcer created in the world, i really hate her now lol, 'cause i'll admit back in the days on s1/s2 i didn't mind her much but than... they just ruined her all together and i mostly blame her relationship with clark with it and the way the producers handled her because i honestly.. she couldn't seem to be able to have a storyline to herself without having man involved and... the feminist in me was really turned off with that and than the whole secret thing they had clana go thorugh for a good 6 years... again no offense to clana fans, because i did like the relationship back in the begining but i personally think that they mishandled it so much like most things on the show... and i should stop now 'cause i could totally go on forever on the al&miles issue of the show. (yeah, i blame them and i hate them too lol) now icon wise now, today features smallville, gossip girl and... nothing else lol. though i have done a couple of HP icons... not enough for my standards to post yet they'll probably be in the next post when i make more (hopefully). as for the GG icons the text ones were mostly inspired by ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) malen_aime_ioan's ones which are awesome and you should defenitely check out because the original is always better than the copy :P!
