lotrslash is a Livejournal community dedicated to fans of Tolkien's grand literary achievements, from The Hobbit to The Silmarillion, and everything in between, and who enjoy slash containing characters from these series. Here members can discuss all manner of slash topics, post fanfiction and fanart, and any other thing their slashy little hearts desire.

percy_weatherby, started this community out of my OWN love for Tolkien's works. Those who enjoy LoTR slash do not enjoy perverting Tolkien's characters. We are simply celebrating it in a diverse way, and a way we most enjoy. Would-be flamers keep this in mind.
WHAT IS THIS "SLASH"?
Slash is a subgenre of fanfiction. In slash fanfiction, a romantic and/or sexual relationship exists between two characters of the same sex. Usually they are male, though much of it is also female (coined femmeslash). Both types are welcome here.
Not all slash is explicit, but some is. If explicit material and/or homosexuality makes you uncomfortable, or is illegal in the country in which you live in at your age, then please be curteous and do not frequent this community. It's a waste of your time to waste our time with needless flames. Keep an open mind at all times.
ON FLAMES AND UNWANTED HARRASSMENT
Because this journal focuses on a subject very touchy to many, I must strictly reinforce a no-nonsense harrassment and flaming rule. Any and all users who flame or harrass users on this board will be immediately and indefinitely banned from all use! The Hand of Mod is very heavy. This is your first and only warning.
ON R OR NC-17 RATED MATERIAL
I will allow both R and NC-17 material in this community, however, since some people may dislike this material or be too young to view it, I must ask that it be heavily marked and that the LJ Cut option be used. This is not to say such material is shunned upon, indeed, it's encouraged, but unfortunately some users are easily squeamish.
ON GEN OR HET DISCUSSION
I will allow SOME Gen and Het discussion on the board, but it should not be used chiefly for that. Users should NOT join this board to discuss ONLY these items. They MUST have some intention to post slash-related threads of any kind. I will be lose with the Off-Topic rules, so feel free to post what you want, but remember, this is a slash community.
