I've looked far and wide for a good, active Lord of the Rings rating/stamping community, but haven't been able to find one. And, as far as I know, when you can't find something you want you make it yourself. So here we are.
THIS IS BASED ON THE MOVIE, as more people are familiar with them than the books, at least on LJ. So, Faramir is going to be a bit more likely to give into temptation, Arwen is going to be more of a fighter, and Frodo is going to be even angstier. And much less likely to break into song.
When you apply, your application will go into what is called a queue - a mailbox of sorts - and will sit there until I let it through. I let one out at a time so that none of the applications get lost and forgotten. Please do not ask me about where or when your application is going to be posted: it will get posted, it just depends on how quickly people vote.
1. Be kind, but honest. If someone is Saruman, then don't be afraid to tell them, but give legitimate reasons, not "I don't like you, you tree killing whore." That's just mean.
2. You have to be a member to post. Just join and you're good to go.
3. Everything must be behind an LJ cut. If it's not, I, or someone else, will inform you of this and if you don't fix it within 12 hours your entry will be deleted.
4. Put "Buckleberry Ferry" in your subject line so I know you read these. If you don't, I'll treat it as if there is no LJ cut, because rules are very important. Sometimes.
5. If you don't like who you were voted as, you may reapply in a fortnight from your first entry. But be careful. I can tell when you're pushing for a certain character. If I deem that you are, you have the choice of remaining as the character you have already been voted or leaving. And no trying to be voted as someone on a different account. I check things out and look for journal creation dates and such.
5a. On character pushing. If four or more people say that you are pushing for a character, I'll inform you that you're application is being deleted. It just isn't fair to the people who are truly honest about who they are and don't necesarily get a character that they love.
6. Once your application is ENTERED, not neccesarily posted, you may carry on and vote for other people.
7. You need at least ten votes to be stamped. (Or if you have six or more votes for the same character)
8. Do not, I repeat do not! reply to comments on your own entry unless they are talking directly to you. It makes counting incredibly difficult for a community of this size with one mod. If you do, with something like "Thanks" or "I never would have seen that character!", I will without hesitation delete the comment.
9. For the love of Frodo, bold your votes! Again, it makes counting easier on me. Learn how to here. Click the "(Read More)" link for further instruction
