Merry loved Pippin. It was a fact. He held in his feelings as much as one could. He knew if he openly loved Pippin he would never get to see him again. His father thought such relationships were wrong. But Merry wanted Pippin to know he loved him anyway.

Pippin had always had a thing for Merry. He knew he would be wronged he showed it. He would be hidden or worse, he'd never see Merry again. Soon after he knew his feelings, Merry started giving him secret little presents. Flowers,notes, and drawings were sent to Pippin. And Pippin felt he had to do the same.

Merry loved the rose he received from Pippin. Pippin had handed it to him in an empty hallway and Brandyhall. They both blushed.

“I like the notes you send me.”

“I like you.”

“I love you.”

Merry cupped Pippin's face and kissed his lips lightly. Pippin kissed back and tangled his fingers in Merry's hair.

They let go and both of their faces were blood red.

“I've never kissed another lad before,” said Merry. Pippin grinned.

“I haven't either.”

“I-I want to do it again.”

So, the two leaned in again for a sweet kiss.

Days after they would always sneak a hidden kiss: on the cheek, on the lips lightly. They would hold hands as they ran in the snow together. No one knew, and the two loved it.

Merry would come into Pippin's bedroom at Brandhall and snuggle under the covers with him. He would shower him with kisses and hugs.

“You're so beautiful, my Took.”

Pippin laughed. “Me? You're the beautiful one.”

“Am not! You are my love and you are beautiful to me.” Here Merry kissed Pippin on the forehead and put his arms around his waist.

“I love you.”

“I love you,too.”

Kiss me down by the broken tree house

It was spring time and the two were swimming the River. Pippin splashed water on Merry.

“Stop it!” Merry yelled and splashed water at Pippin.

Pippin did it again. “Only if you will!”

“Fine!”

The two swam where they would be close together. Merry put his fingers in Pippin's wet hair.

“I love it when you look like this.”

“Like what?” Pippin asked. “Naked, in water?” He laughed.

“Yes! No. What I meant was your hair. It's...pretty.”

“I'm pretty?”

“You're beautiful.”

“Merry?”

“Yes, Pippin?”

“Kiss me.”

And Merry did.
