Title: New Beginnings

Rating: R for non-explicit sex scenes.
Prompt: First time after a bit of sadness, preferably post-quest.
Summary: The New Year and his wedding is coming up, but Faramir is feeling a bit under the weather, both physically and mentally.
Other notes/warnings: Flangst. But mostly fluff. With this being Middle-Earth, I made all the characters speak in a slightly old style of speech; I hope that's okay. The time lapse between when Faramir and Eowyn were betrothed and when they were married may be a teensy bit long (or maybe not?) , but both are important people, and unlike Aragorn and Arwen, have not known they wished to marry each other for over half a century. Also, this is my first time writing smut of any kind, and may be a bit (or a lot) cheesy... But hope you enjoy this!

Could sugaredarsenic and j_dav please repost their fics as soon as possible? There appears to have been a cut-tag snafu, and as a result, the whole entry is visible. I have deleted the entries, but I have raw text backups of the posts if they should be needed.
I'm sorry for not catching the errors when approving the posts, but I'm rather Christmas-stressed and a bit scatterbrained as a result. :(

Disclaimer: The Lord of the Rings and the hobbits belong to J.R.R. Tolkien, and no profit is being made from this work of fiction.
Notes: Written for ladysunrope for the lotr_sesa. She asked for a fic involving either Frodo/Sam or Frodo/Merry, and I chose the latter. I'm terribly not very confident in my ability to write slash, so this leans more towards gen and I really hope you don't mind! I was also quite apprehensive about writing Merry, but I did my best and enjoyed writing this as well. :)
Summary: This takes place during the holiday of Yule, most likely in the year 3020 after the four travelers return. Merry's not quite in the spirit and old wounds are troubling him, but Frodo's presence makes the holiday considerably brighter and starts Merry on the road to healing and recovery. I hope you have a lovely holiday, ladysunrope!

She also said she enjoyed first time fic, and I thought to myself, "What's more of a first time than before the beginning of the world?" I hope this is to your tastes, Mitzi! Hyvää Joulua! This is a reminder that all stories/artwork are due Wednesday, December 17! Today's the day, ladies and gents! Please post your stories/art to the comm before the end of today (unless you have already contacted the mods and made other arrangements) and they will end up in the queue, where they will sit comfortably until the unveiling on December 24. We currently have six out of fifteen submitted -- thank you to those who have already posted, and good luck to those of you still working away!
As we ask that you not share your contribution outside the community before January 1, do not link to your own journal or a website, but post directly to the comm. Please add a subject line to your post, stating the title, rating and pairing and the name of your recipient. Also, use a header with warnings, disclaimer, etc. before lj-cutting to your story/artwork.
If you post and then realize you've made an error you'd like to fix, please let the mods know and one of us will remove your post from the queue so you can repost.
While we do expect that everyone who has signed up to participate will fulfill their end of the bargain, we understand that sometimes life does get in the way of plans. If you are having trouble meeting your obligations, please let us know ASAP so that we can accommodate you best/make alternate plans. If we have not received your submission/heard from you by the end of the day (PST), you will be considered as having defaulted on the exchange. Remember that being upfront and clear about deadline concerns, while sometimes embarrassing, is far preferable (and much more considerate) than remaining silent and simply fading away.
Most of all, of course, enjoy the holiday season!
