I made a mistake in the challenge post I put up earlier today, thinking the comm hadn't done that theme before, when in fact there was a Lórien gap-filler challenge back in 2004. I've edited the post to add in the links to the old recommendations so we'll know to rec something new this time. They could be helpful if you're looking for something to read too - some nice classics linked there and the links are still good. :)

Here's a challenge we've never done before! Here's a challenge we haven't done since 2004! Please rec a fic good Lord of the Rings fic (or several) set in the forest of Lothlórien and which was not recommended in the previous Lórien challenge. This might be from the Fellowship's time there after Moria but could also take place at any other time in the history of Middle-earth – any genre, pairing, rating, etc. If you'd like to talk about a longer fic that has some significant scenes set in Lórien, that's good too, just be sure to mention it in the rec.

Under the cut are links to the recs from the previous Lórien challenge from September of 2004. Amazingly, all the story links are still good.

This challenge will run through the end of July and you can rec as many fics as you like, just please start a new comment thread for each one. Once you've recced a fic by another author you can rec one of your own if you'd like.

I had not known before today that the name Lothlórien means Dreamflower, so I would like to make a shoutout to our own dreamflower02 who's helped out by contributing so many recs here over the years. Oooh. I got permission from abby_normal to use one of the most evocative “bondage” pics I have ever seen for this challenge. It is “Freedom”, her own manip from her very hot story Sonata Form.

Recommend a good story which depicts "bondage" (per the definition below) and was not recommended in the original challenge (see list behind the cut below). Any genre, any rating. This includes FP and RP.

Definition: (Adapted from Wikipedia) Bondage involves people (or hobbits or dwarves or elves) being tied up or otherwise restrained for pleasure. The restraints can be almost anything -- rope, silk ribbon, handcuffs, clothing, and, rarely, what practitioners call "verbal restraint" -- a partner telling you to remain in a particular position or risk punishment of some kind if you move. IMPORTANT NOTE: Bondage in this sense is NEVER non-consensual (the fantasy acted out may be about non-consensual situations, but the reality never is).

Post your recommendation as a comment on THIS entry please. Oh yes, and it doesn't matter if the fic is now unavailable online -- tell us about it anyway. Perhaps someone may know where it is hiding these days!
