For those of you new here (yeaaah, right), a couple of years back we had a "sister-channel" running called #lothDSG, or "#lothlorien Daily Sketch Group". The basic idea was that we'd take a random theme or keyword and then do a fast sketch on that, afterwards we'd look at everyone's work and comment on things that could be improved and such. While we didn't have daily sessions, we did at least have sessions every now and then - and at least for me they helped a lot. Not only did I get better, I also forced myself to draw. Unfortunately, #lothDSG died away for some reason.

The question is, though: Do you want #lothDSG to come back? (or, for those who never experienced it, Would this be something that you'd be interested in joining?). Also, would you join on a regular basis or not? There's no need for daily sessions, and I doubt people would have the stamina (or the time) for that, but weekly or semi-weekly would work, I think. To top it all off, DW's game to incorporate it on the loth site - that is if we'd get enough participants on a regular basis.

As I tried to say, but don't know if it got through before the netsplit: I'm not that interested in High Fashion, and was only saying what the documentary said. Also, the comment that sparked the discussion was more of a sideways comment than anything. Again, I really don't know that much about the entire area in any case. But, the documentary seemed to be correct, given the article that I dug up and whatnot. But I'm sure you know more than I do, so I bow to your knowledge in this. Nothing worth fussing over, really. Pity that I couldn't say it in the channel though, but hey, that's online life for ya.

So, as the topic says; do you think #Lothlorien is PG-13? The rules says that it is, but is it? There's plenty of innudenos and discussions about sexual activities although "cleverly" disguised as other things (at times). So, do we break the PG-13 rule? Should the rule be removed? Should it be reinforced?

What happened to the old loth we all knew and loved? :( Nowadays, it's rare to see more than two people talking. Around 15 people just sit around and idle all the time... which used to happen, but things would at least pick up in the evening. Hardly anyone uses Elfwood anymore. There isn't much art talk. People don't plug pictures or talk about the stuff they're drawing. A lot of the old buddies that used to come around and make it fun are gone. We used to -do- stuff, like DSG, and argue politics until mods spanked us, and play toss the squirrel or other small rodent...

I miss the old loth. I wish we could bring some of the old friends back.

I hope this isn't unwelcome here, but I'm hoping to infuse some more activity and creativity into my community.

wanna_tat_u is a community geared towards artists who aspire to work in the body modification field. Those who are currently apprenticing for tattoo artists, who are seeking apprenticeships, or who just want to know more about the whole "Tattoo community" are welcome.

We will participate in such things as Illustration Friday, flash collection challenges, portfolio critiques, tattoo design challenges for real people, book reviews, and the list goes on. The purpose of the group is to provide an open atmosphere for creative exchange of ideas, specifically geared towards body modification.

If there's objection to this post, please let me know, and I'll remove it from the community.
