i saw a post recently discussing hurley's weight-loss issue (or lack thereof, i suppose), and then today came across an article discussing that very thing. i've copied and pasted directly from the chicago tribune website, beneath the cut, because to link to it would require everyone who views it to have membership.

Ok, so the Losties have been on this island for 45-50 days. They're on a strict vegetable, fish, and sometimes boar diet. With all the walking between the river camp and the ocean camp, and walks to explore the island theres a lot of exercise going on. Ok, so with all this, how is it that Hurley is still the same exact size? Now, Im not sayin he should be as skinny as Charlie or anything, but I think he'd lose a consider amount of weight. I understand this is a TV show and not everything can be 'realistic' but they've done a pretty good job with other aspects of the show. Perhaps Hugo has a clause in his contract that he refuses to lose weight for the show?

have you ever tried to use on or more of the numbers to try and gain something?
last night my mother and i went to this balitmore bead society thing, and when
you went in they had all these numbers on the table and you were supposed to choose
one for a door prize. so like a lost nerd that i am, i chose 15. my mother chose one
too [40] although i don't think she was paying attention.

LIKE YOU ALL KNOW we didn't win ANYTHING. THEN while we were leaving, we were walking
towards where the car was and my mother was like EM WHERE THE HELL IS THE CAR!?!?!?!
we were positive that we parked it infront of a white car and infront of a stop sign.
so we were walking quickly and then we see the van, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET.
[it was at a school and most schools now have the circle around the front that's one
way and stop signs on both sides of the street.] i'm not sure if this has anything to
do with the numbers. most likely our stupidity.

Does anybody know where I can get images or a .gif animation of Michael from the bloopers section of the DVDs going, "Man if we were back home, I'd buss'a cap in yoh ass homie, f'real - wes-siyeed!" and throwing up the W hand thing. I laughed so fucking hard at that I had to keep rewinding and watching it over and over again, damn near peeing my pants.

By the way, regarding that bonus disc - didn't it shock anyone else to hear Jin speak English/Sayid speak with his real accent? I mean, I was floored. I want Naveen to have that middle-eastern accent all the time, haha. And am I crazy, but Jin and Sun both have the last name "Kim" - are they related/married, or is Kim just a ridiculously common Korean name, or what?

I am so freaking excited.
Does anyone else get their friends together to watch the show? We have been getting about 5-10 people together and to be honest its the only time I can get those people to be quite.
