lost_theories! Before we begin theorizing, I'd appreciate it if you read the following basic guidelines, just to keep things nice and easy!
Rules
1. Repetition
Make sure you are reading the other theories. Chances are, it could have been posted already. So if you want to continue on the idea of someone else's theory, try to link them for one thing. And try not to say everything they've already said. Any kind of theory is welcome, mind you. ANY KIND. From when someone will die, to when someone will kiss, to when the slashy urges take over for the whole island.
But we want you all to make sure you are reading and learning from everyone else. Make sure you have new information to present. This is a JJ Abrams show. These shows are INTENSE and there is a lot you can learn from them, just by noticing the simple things. Make sure you are aware of everyone else.
We aren't expecting you to go back through every page to see if something has been said. But come on, how hard is it to just sorta skim through things? And besides, if you're in this community, you're pretty welcome to learning new theories anyway...
2. Flaming
Guess what. People will argue with your theory. Discussion, Debate, you name it, it will happen. Just keep your mamas out of it. No body wants to be called all kinds of bitches for thinking Locke is a pimp. Okay? Okay. Keep it FRIENDLY!
3. F@!k%r!
Yeah, there MIGHT be some younger people in this community, like one of the mods, but I'm gonna say right now: Swearing is allowed, as long as it isn't excessive and pointless. No one will be impressed by your ability to spout out thirty different words for male genitalia. However, I personaly don't believe in words that shouldn't be said, so there won't be any rules like that here. If you have a problem with that, sorry, move along...
4.LJ-Cut
LJ-CUT is your friend. Post pictures. PLEASE. In fact if you can back up your theory with images, go for it. Be curtious about HOT LINKING. I know I have webspace and I don't want it hot linked, so be considerate. Furthermore, if the image is large, no matter what, it goes behind a cut. And if the image is spoilery it goes behind a cut... basically... if it's an image, it's behind a cut. Thanks. :)
5. Keep it ON TOPIC!
This is a community specifically for Lost THEORIES. Just because your post involves Lost in some way does NOT mean that it is welcome here. The types of posts that will be immediately deleted include, but are not limited to: actor news, costuming info, merchandise info, advertising posts of ANY kind, chain letters/posts, etc. The first time you post something off-topic, the post will be deleted and you will be given a warning. The second time will either result in an additional warning or a ban, depending on the posts. If you have ANY questions as to what would be an on-topic post, (And hint: if it doesn't include a theory, or at least a question about something specific you think might be important, it probably is off-topic), feel free to email me.
Point blank: There are SO MANY lost communities... you can find a place to post what you want to post.
6. WHOOPS!
If someone accidentally posts here instead of their private journals, (Which happens to me all the time), point it out to them gently. No need to humiliate them and scar them for life.
