the season finale had me wondering... it wasn't until right near the end that I realised the "flashbacks" of Jack were actually in the future.

kinda makes me look forward to the next season more.

So Lost isn't on this week... I'm guessing Seven wants to make us wait for Episode 7, like the US had to wait over winter.

Does anyone know (or at least know how to find out) just how LONG they're going to break for? I mean, I'd rather not wait three months if it's all the same to them.

What did you think about this episode?

Wow. Finally we get to see what Locke has been going through. I loved his dream sequence with Boone, I had read previously that Boone was to star in the show for one last time in this season. What Boone was saying to Locke will ring true within this season.
I love Hurley he is always so funny with how he says "dude", he looked really scared and confused the poor guy, who wouldn't be after what he has been through.
Charlie was cute with how he was saying to Locke about getting addicted to drugs. His hair looked weird though, not like how it looked last season at all.
Oh what I really thought was funny, is that, the other survivors, you know the extras, they actually spoke to Hurley, two of them did. Where as before they would have sounded something in unison in the background. So this shows that they need to fill in those other characters that are out there either captured or trying to save the captured.
I liked Johns speech, it was a little too predictable, especially after Desmond said something about it to Hurley earlier. I did like Hurley experiencing dejavu though, that was cute.

What are your thoughts on the second episode of season 3?

This episode wasn't as dark as the first ep. I didn't get why Sawyer and Kate were digging up rocks and breaking them and such. Although I did love it when Sawyer couldn't resist to kiss Kate, then was able to get hold of one of "the others" guns, they were so scared of him.
Didn't see much of Jack in this episode. But thankfully plenty on Sayid, Sun and Jin. I was wondering what they were up to and whether they knew where Jack, Kate and Sawyer were. They found the "make shift" village, and realised it was all a set up. I couldn't believe that Sun actually shot one of the others, I was so pleased that she was able to get away. I don't want anything bad happening to her as she is pregnant.
I knew Ben was going to say that he had lived his entire life on the island, as this goes with my small theory. That "the others" are left overs from the original Hanso group, like they are the children of the original group.
I thought it odd that Ben knows how to get off the island, yet doesn't want to. I loved and laughed at when Ben told Jack about the Red Socks winning the world series, then he showed him on the tv. I can't wait to see what else they will be showing on that tv.

...were the first 5 minutes as good as you were hoping for?

Man did my heart break for Jack a million times tonight! I'm usually all 'yeah whatever Jack, where's Sayed/Sawyer?' but tonight I really related to him.

Even though I knew the beard was a costume, and suspected The Others weren't as primitive as first impressions led to believe I was surprised to see them living in a 'normal' community in the middle of the island with burnt muffins and book clubs. I'm going to be interested to see how 'Henry's' (did Juliet call him Pat at the end of the episode) story unfolds. How all of The Others stories unfold I guess. I sensed friction and animosity, possibly resentment coming from the rest of the group towards him and couldn't work out why they didn't overpower him and thought maybe he might be their only way off the island. Or something.

I would have liked to see how things were going on the other side of the island after the explosion and white light & everything but they probably need more than a few minutes out of an episode to really go there.

An animal research station is my theory for The Others. I think they're experimenting and documenting human VS animal reactions and how environmental factors (like Jack's father's alcoholism; his divorce; Kate's criminal past; Sawyer's vendetta) impact the individuals being studied.

In closing, yay! I missed Lost too much. </lj>

What are you expecting in season 3 of 'Lost'?
I'm expecting:

* Lots on "the others". Like how they saw the plane crash, why they are there, why they have taken some yet not others from the survivors.

* Hopefully something on the survivors family and friends who are looking for them.

* The answer to the numbers, what they mean.

* More answers to this connection between all the survivors.

* And most of all more twist and turns than ever before.

Oh, and has anyone figured out why Jack, Kate and Sawyer are all held captive by the so called "good guys" "the others"??? There was a post made about it back last year Here I'm just wondering if anyone has given it anymore thought?

Is anyone else as excited as me with the return of 'Lost' this Thursday on Channel 7 at 9:10pm?
I had to re-watch all of season 2, it took me 4 days to do it, so I could remember what had happened, so much happened.
I think that Channel 7 are re-showing the last episode of season 2, and then showing the first episode next week, as they are doing this with Desperate Housewives and Grays Anatomy.
Well no they aren't doing that at all, I just checked the tv guides and apparently they are showing this, this week:

Get an overview of the story so far and the opportunity to discover some clues you may have missed. Season one dealt with the fuselage survivors, the hatch and a failed attempt to get off the island. Season two continued these stories and also introduced viewers to Desmond - the man responsible for inputting the numbers into the hatch computer system - the survivors of the tail section and Henry Gale, who turned out to be the leader of the Others. This special puts these two seasons together in a linear fashion to provide an illuminating view on a compelling story. See the sequence of events in the aftermath of the crash of flight 815, the failed raft attempt, the opening of the hatch, how the tail section and fuselage survivors lived separately and the unwitting intersections of their lives in one catastrophic moment, the implosion of the hatch and the capture of Jack, Kate and Sawyer by the Others.

Well here's hoping that they start to air the first episode to season 3 next week.

Making a post because I felt like some discussion. :)

I really enjoyed this episode. And I'm so glad they actually went back and showed us what happened to Michael now, instead of leaving it for an entire season like they did with Claire. :p

Anyway, I really wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts on what Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley might have in common. I can't come up with a theory, myself. It's driving me crazy. I figured either the Others are particularly interested in them, or particularly want them out of the way - but maybe it's a bit of each, so they don't have one thing in common. And didn't Henry say he was coming for Locke, anyway? (Course, he may have been lying.)

So please. Give me theories.

Also, had we seen this guy before? Or have I seen him before somewhere else? He looks familiar, and I'm terrible with faces which makes everything difficult for me. :p

Who else wants to kick the living shit out of Michael right now? Watching Hurley sob over Libby's dead body was heart-wrenching for me.

But it makes me wonder... if I was in Michael's shoes, what would I do?

I thought about it myself, and I don't really know. I'm not a parent, and I haven't been stranded on a freaky island for over a month, and my son hasn't been kidnapped, so I can't really judge what my reaction would be. Is Michael still totally sane, even? He's sane enough to lie, but that doesn't mean much. I believe I'd have a hard time killing Ana-Lucia, no matter what. I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's thoughts about Michael's... behaviour.

I'm also wondering if we will ever get to know about Libby's past... I'd still like to know why she was in the hospital with Hurley. Maybe we'll learn more about her through someone else's flashback (as has happened before), but she is currently the only main character who has died without having any flashback scenes of her own.

I think Sawyer redeemed himself a little bit in this episode. :P

Oh yeah - this was in the trivia section of the www.tv.com page for this episode:

Dharma Initiative Film Guy was known as Dr. Candle in the Swan Station 3 film, but in the Pearl Station 5 film, he's known as Dr. Mark Wendhall. In the Pearl Station 5 film Dr. Wendhall has two arms, while in the Swan Station 3 film he only appears to have one. You can assume the station 5 film was made before the Swan one, since the copyright was a year earlier. The Dr. looks younger in the Pearl one and has more dark hair, this also shows it was before. The "incident" reffered to in the swan video might have caused his arm loss.

His name is actually 'Wickman' not Wendhall.

(I'm guessing that last bit was someone else's edit)

I'll have to watch the two film reels again, back to back!

I don't believe that Libby is actually dead... I wasn't surprised by what Michael did, but I hate the fact that Ana-Lucia died. She was one of my favourite characters. :(

I'm posting this because I want to see how many people out there are still interested in discussing "Lost" (not that we have many episodes left in the season). :)

I didn't watch all of the episode, because... well... I wasn't in the mood for another re-cap tonight, particularly not at this point. I have taped it, though, so I'll watch it later, since I'm sure it contains clues about the upcoming final episodes.

I've been wondering who (if anyone) is really going to die before the end of this season. One possibility is Henry Gale, because he seems expendable. So I'd like to suggest a poll...

Should Henry Gale:

a.) die, because he's irritating as hell
b.) live, because he's amusing as hell and he irritates everyone else :D

Did anyone catch Harold Perrineau (Michael) in Woman on Top last night (channel 7, 11:05pm according to my TV guide)? I only watched part of it, but he looked fantastic. ^_^

LOST & Biggest Loser

Lost and Biggest Loser are on at the same time tomorrow night. It was a huge dilemma for me, but I think I'm going to make a hard decision and watch the Biggest Loser. I just want to see the first Australian Finale and all, and I guess some of my friends will have the episode. I know that I'm going to mis soooo much because of never missed an episode I haven't seen before, so this is a first. And this is the episode where Sawyer gets a haircut! I've been dying to see this episode!

So what are you guys going to do?

so, was anyone else confused by this week's lost? (the one from the 23/3.) wasn't bernard rose's husband who was "going to the toilet down the back of the plane" when it crashed? if so, why was he strapped into a seat up a tree? i'm just a tad confused...

Season Two has started in Australia!

While I have the floor, I'm also going to introduce myself as your new moderator, and say a huge thank you to restriction who began the lost_australia community last year and looked after it with great care. restriction has invited me to take over moderation, and I'll do my best to uphold her standards. Community rules have not changed - why fix it if it isn't broken?

OK. I don't know about you guys, but I consider icons spoilers too. The last post has spoilers from the most recent episode that was aired only a few hours ago in the US. I can tell that what they've done is randomly searched for Lost communities, joined, and posted icons, not really caring if they're considered spoilers or not.
