Some questions on Return of the King (movie version!) [31 Oct 2009|08:05am] d33ann Hi folks! I have a question about the movie version of Return of the King. This question is more related to Jackson's interpretation of LoTR. *When Gandalf is querying the cornered Saruman at Orthanc, Saruman says something to the effect of "something festers in the heart of middle earth, something you have failed to see, but Sauron has seen it." To what is he referring? I've read the books (Silmarillion through most of Christopher Tolkein's books) backwards and forwards long before the movie even came out, and I re-read on a regular basis. I can't figure out what Saruman was talking about there. Does anyone know? Is it something related to Jackson's interpretation, that was then left out of the movie? He certainly can't be talking about the existance of the Balrog, cause Gandalf had already killed it in the first movie! 8 palantíri|seeking stones
