AboutA company's name is the foundation of its marketing plan. The nexus of ideas and images that complete its brand. It arises out of the company's mission, vision and values.
At Loose Id, our mission is threefold:
* To offer exceptional cross-genre stories with diverse and engaging plotlines;
* To foster a vibrant, creative community; and
* To explore and capitalize on the interactive capabilities of the Internet and emerging technologies.
We wanted a name that would be distinctive and intriguing, funny and smart. A name that suggested a story. A name like Loose Id.
Loose (lus), adj.: not rigidly fastened or securely attached; free from a state of confinement, restraint, or obligation; lacking in restraint or power of restraint.
Id ('id), n.: the one of the three divisions of the psyche in psychoanalytic theory that is completely unconscious and is the source of psychic energy derived from instinctual needs and drives.
Loose Id (lus-'id), n.: a community of authors, artists, editors, reader, reviewers, sharing lives and stories; a place of vibrant and unrestrained creativity.
In other words, unconscious desire set free in the playground of the mind.
