    Learning to do hair
I'm growing my hair back out and as of today, it is long enough that I can use my hair sticks again! *yay*

I've had long hair (waist-length) in the past, but I can only really do three things: leave it down, ponytail or hair sticks. I keep seeing all the gorgeous braids and buns and stuff people on this community do with their hair and I am in awe. How did you all learn to do stuff like that? Is there some kind of class or is it trial and error or what?

    advice meme
this is a sort of odd meme.... of course i am an odd person, and i made it up.

"what advice do you wish you had gotten? or advice do you think people should get but usually dont."

the usual thing is to give the meme a topic, and for this community the topic is "hair".
so post the advice you think people should heed.... the best advice you got and want to pass on, and so on.

then feel free to post this meme in your journal, with a topic if you so desire

    Backup please
alright guys, i need some backup. I just had the "you should donate your hair" moment with my mom and little sister. I tried to enplane to them that what they said was a bit rude and they think I'm being a prick. Could I get some replies to show them I'm not the only person that feels this way?

Edit: just showed them your replies, my little sisters comment; "well, I'm glad that your little internet world thinks that way cause thats not how people in the real world are"

apparently she has donated her hair(fried and blond) I asked her which group she donated it to and she looked at me like a cow looks at an oncoming train apparently in her mind there is only locks of love.

I also forgot to mention I regularly dye my hair colors like blue and green and black, I don't think that would make such a good wig.

Professional scissors for dusting - what is important?
So I've been looking through a webshop for hair professionals in order to buy a pair of decent scissors which I can use for dusting. (http://www.domino-haarkosmetik.com/) But the selection is huge - I'm completely lost o_O

The prices for the scissors range from 19,- to 300+, so my question is... will the cheap ones do the trick? Are there any technical terms I should look out for?

(Plus, are there any other pro devices or products that are useful for fostering long hair? Now that I order from this shop anyway...)

    Thanks in advance!
