a kind reminder of the comm rules Specifically as it has to do with drama and negativity.
I don't expect anyone to be perfect. I've certainly ripped a few people new ones here and there when I was peeved about something.
But if you see drama, a lot of negativity, off-topicness, whatever, please resist the urge to reply and tell them that they're being asses. Just let me know about it. I don't know what it is about troublemakers and how they must be able to *smell* when I'm away from the computer for 24 hours or more, but it's uncanny.
I do read every post on here, but I usually don't read the comments unless there's a lot of them and I'm making sure there's nothing unnecessary going on. I also usually read them not too long after they've come out, so sometimes drama happens after I'm already past the post. So I do very much appreciate you all letting me know when there's crap going down.
We have a great community here, and part of what makes it great is that the drama is pretty minimal, especially considering how very personal and ego-related the topic is. There are a few long-term posters who are pretty hard and heavy with the negativity and humble opinions sometimes, but I do say something to them when it's obviously a problem (and not just about me and my own values and opinions). We seem to get in a minor tiff every few months...big deal. The rest of the time we're golden. I try to do my part to keep it that way, but the community is all about you.
And we don't want drama. We want hair!
( With that in mind, show off your hair! )
