    My First Try with CO!!
Well, I've always wanted to try CO, but was always paranoid of its effects on my hair. No matter what products I use, 'cones or no, I've always had super oily roots and super-dry, split-ended, frizzy length. So I've been afraid that it would make my roots a million times worse, and also react badly to the anti-frizz products I'm basically forced to use (too much buildup.)

Well, I just moved in with my boyfriend, and (okay, don't laugh) his ex-wife left a TON of conditioner in the linen closet. Like, 5 full bottles. And no shampoo. Now, I have my own shampoo, don't get me wrong, but for some reason the glaring excess of conditioner inspired me.

I've been CO'ing since Sunday now, and I'm, frankly, amazed.

I haven't been using a 'cone-free conditioner, but again, 'cone-free's never worked for my hair. But my hair is a million times less frizzy, softer, and nowhere NEAR as greasy when I wake up. I wake up to what they mean you're supposed to have when they tell you to have "unwashed hair" for a dye job or updo -- just a little bit of natural oil in it. Nothing disgusting, itchy, or dirty-looking. I can comb it out (I use a large-toothed comb) without any serum, gel, heat spray, etc (which I always used to have to have if I didn't want it to break) and it holds its shape a lot better.

It's a little more tangly, and I still get frizzies when it's raining and super humid, but it's WAY better. Now, I've only just started-- but I am very happy so far!!

Here's a picture to show you what I mean about my really dry, frizzy length before (and it was pretty humid this day, so this is a BAD day, but even so:)

I...am getting a hair cut. Now, I've got 2.5, maybe 3 feet of hair, I've never actually measured. Its the first thing anyone notices and comments on. So, I'm looking for a cut that won't lose me too much length. Right now, its just plain, parted down the middle, dyed black and flat. Does anyone know of a good cut that would keep most of the length, but be a little more interesting? Pictures or just recomendations would be awesome. :)
