This one came to me in a dream. Seriously. I don't know what that means. I got the picture from this page: http://www.lewis-clark.org/content/content-article.asp?ArticleID=356, and left the photo credit because it's such a nice picture. Anyway:

Context: If you don't know, the North American pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) is the only living member of the ungulate family Antilocapridae and is by far the fastest land mammal in the Western hemisphere; it most likely evolved to outrun a species of cheetah which didn't survive the Pleistocene extinction of the megafauna in the Americas. :3 |

So I have a lab in which I'm supposed to PCR DNA. As one of my professors characterized it at the beginning of the semester, "it's basically putting miniscule drops of clear liquid with more miniscule drops of clear liquid and hoping you get a good result."
My latest PCR results (as seen on gel electrophoresis below) make me sadface and rather frustrated. So a macro got randomly lodged in my brain.
... in my defense, it really is a terrible gel. (Some lanes got holes poked in them and that's why they look funky. Terrible gel.)
