Boston Lolita Meetup!
My dear Lolis, the time has come.
Hello my darlings!
This is what you need to know about the Boston Area Lolita Meetup, happening on 22 April 2006. We will be meeting at 1.00p in the Boston Public Gardens for a dessert picnic and photoshoots! There is nothing very formal planned in terms of events, but there will be lots of treats, lots of Lolis, and lots of fun!
THE DEAL:
- The beautiful Sara-Jane and I are hosting this event, and as such, we will be providing the food. However, we will only be paying for our share of food like everyone else. We want you to come and we want you to enjoy yourself, but in order to provide enough food for everyone in attendance, we require a $5 REGISTRATION FEE to be PayPal'd to us as soon as possible. You don't pay, you don't eat. It sounds strict, but we are both college kids in the area, and believe me, tuition is not cheap -- we cannot front dessert for every Loli, as much as we'd love to. Should you drop out or decide not to come within 72 hours of the event, money will gladly be returned. Less than 72 hours and the money will have already been spent on food & drink.
- Registration has begun (!!) and will last until 19 April 2006. All money must be PayPal'd to jaimie_graham(at)emerson(dot)edu at that time. Should you decide that you cannot join us, you can still get a refund on your registration money if you e-mail the same address by 11.59p on 19 April 2006. (Woah. That sounds... uber official. O_O)
- After doing some research and a lot of asking around, we decided that a permit would not be necessary. Unfortunately, if the BPL decides that our little gathering becomes a riot (which it totally should NOT, I do not forsee this being a problem) we will move ourselves to Fanueil Hall up the street, where people gather all the time.
- You will be responsible for your own camera for photoshoots (as we do not have an official photographer) as well as your own money should you decide to take the T anywhere to or from the event. (T fares are $1.25/token) The most convenient T stop to the Boston Public Garden is ARLINGTON on the Green Line. (http://www.mbta.com)
- As an FYI, the Boston Public Gardens are very beautiful and very old, and as such have very strict rules and regulations. Please follow all rules posted in the park. Also, as of this afternoon, the lake was being drained, cleaned and will probably be refilled shortly. Hopefully (weather permitting) this means that they will be returning the Swan Boats to the lake in the next few weeks. If you are interested in taking a ride around the lake in the Swan Boats, I believe it is $3 per ticket.
- Finally, if you are joining us, please comment below with your name and the number of people you are bringing with you. Please PayPal your fee as soon as possible, and keep an eye out for one last update before the event!
I hope everyone is as excited as I am, and I hope this isn't too strict or too formal. I just want to have a good time with a bunch of beautiful Lolis. If you are curious about desserts and foods, the money that comes from Registration goes straight to a beautiful bakery in Chinatown that sells the most exquisite cakes, cookies, tarts and other delicious desserts. There will probably be iced tea and lemonade as drinks, and Sara-Jane might even bake one of her famous cakes! O_O
This being said, I need the most accurate count of people possible to ensure that everyone gets some treats!!
Thank you all so much! This is going to be a great time!!
