AboutThis is a loc community specifically addressing the needs of black people who have locs. I know, locs have a long, multi-cultured, "official history".
I also know, that as the first people on this earth, "Lucy" and her contemporaries, more than likely did not concern themselves with inventing the comb. Though, "history" dictates that most cultural traditions required/favored/had locs (from the Hindi and the Celts, to the Rastas), Africans were the first to wear them. This does not negate, nor invalidate other ethnicities' choice to wear them. It validates our first claim to them.
End of Story.
It is a travesty that it is as difficult, as it is to find locing information specifically for black hair.
This community is NOT exclusively for black people, however, because it addresses the specific needs of the textures of our hair, people of other ethnicities may not find this community particularly enlightening. But hey, I've seen some pretty nappy hair on non-blackfolk, so all are welcome... :-)

#3 Postings Must Be About Black Folks' Loc'ed Hair. No disrespect to our brother and sister communities, but having the same predominant majority (topics, focus, etc.) that's present in umpteen other loc'ing communities would defeat the purpose.
