I woke up this morning feeling really gross. My throat hurts and my head feels like it weighs 20 pounds. The symposium was really nice today, but being out in the heat for the park re-dedication and the dinner was pretty miserable T__T I had plans with some of my friends and I have to cancel them, and I hate doing that. I was really excited to get to do something with them, too. ;_; Jessica is still coming over so we can get some things done for school and I hope she doesn't get sick too.
I couldn't find a good tote bag but I did finally buy a flash drive, a new hole puncher, and some more non-aluminum having deodorant yaay.
To make myself feel better I made a Treasury:

Appropriately titled "HELLLOOOOO NURSE!" :3 Check it out here: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=4624

Damn...who'd have thought it was possible...both candidates for President selected precisely the running mate they needed...
Obama, the young and inexperienced minority candidate, picked an older and more experienced white man.
McCain, the older and more experienced white man, picked a young and inexperienced woman.
It didn't look good, however, when Obama criticized Palin as too inexperienced to lead. Um...Mr. Obama...go look in the mirror...you're just as inexperienced...your house has lots of glass in it, dude, don't be throwing rocks.
Now, having said that, I'm probably going to look *much* closer at Palin as Veep than I am at Biden. Why? Because the chances that McCain is going to die in office is statistically much higher than the chances that Obama will. And if elected, the chances that Palin will some day run for President is also much higher than that of Biden running (again).

Sure enough, I have thrush and an ulcer on my tongue.
They gave me antibiotics and a medicated mouthwash.
I actually ate a bit of REAL food today and though it hurt it was awesome. I miss food.
Thank you to all of you who left me comments. I don't have the energy to reply right now, but thank you very much. I love you all.

Christine called at FIVE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING to check on Autumn and make sure Boulder hadn't transformed into a smoking crater in her absence. Considering she and Louis are in Florida and not say, on Mars, I think she would have heard about the "smoking crater" bit on the news. Whatever. Asking for trouble: why are you doing it right?

So, failboat Smeyer commented on the leakage of Midnight Sun. I know there was more to it, but all I saw was this:
"If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story."
I kind of really wish for that.
I kept trying to post last night, but we lost our power 3-4 times, so it was impossible. I forgot what I wanted to post about.

Those are all from AZcentral.com. Apparently ASU's new indoor practice field, which was this 8.4 million dollar plastic bubble like thing, is lying in shreds all over Tempe. This storm was intense- my mother and I were standing outside watching our tree out front as it lost huge branch after huge branch, and kept hearing one of the support limbs tearing. It's still barely hanging on there, and it looks like the co-op is going to have to cut the tree down.
I'm anxiously waiting to drive by our house, because I am scared that pecan tree is now lying on top of/into it.
Yesterday, I had to ride my bike 12 miles, and take two 40 minute bus rides. NO FUN GUYS. And I had a dream last night that involved Donna and the Doctor, but I can't remember it. Very strange. I'll be working on my fics and intoevenings stuff this weekend too, so hopefully there will be a bunch of stuff for you guys to read when I return.
Anyway, I have some laundry/packing to do, and then I am off to Luna Lake for three days of relaxation and chasing after Gracie. Have fun guys, try not to miss me too much. ;}
Mini-Hiatus!
ETA: OH yes. I remember. I was on the bus yesterday and this girl got on and sat across from me. She took out Breaking Fail and started reading it and I kept staring at her trying to figure out why she wasn't rolling on the floor of the bus laughing. I had trouble not laughing just seeing that the book really exists.

Okay Donkeys, the pomp and parade time is over...let's hear the details of what your party and candidate intends to do. And I mean specifics, not general blathering politician doublespeak. Like what we've heard for the last four days. And I don't want to hear it in terms of what the Elephants are or are not doing. If your candidate cannot announce his plans without using the words "McCain" or "Republicans" or "Conservatives", or other words that mean those same things, then he's lying or hiding something.
And, my dear Donkeys, please don't think I'm singling you out. Next week after the Elephants have their circus, I expect them to do the same thing.
(What stupid animals to pick for political parties...a pack animal and a lumbering behemoth. If I ever start a party, my symbol is going to be a killer whale or great white shark or a polar bear or something like that...an apex predator all the way!)

"America, we are better than these last eight years. We are a better country than this."
I've been cynical about the upcoming election and flat out angry about the amount of pandering that's taken place. But that speech...
I can't tell you how many times I apologized for being an American when I was abroad this summer. Maybe this time next year, I won't have to.
If Obama wins the election, chances are he won't accomplish everything he set out to do. Four years isn't a long time, especially when much of his term will be spent reversing the damage caused by the Bush Administration. But if he can accomplish a quarter what he's mapped out in that speech, he will make the country a better place than it has been for nearly a decade.
I believe in Barack Obama.

A while ago I tried going somewher but couldn't get there, because I would have to wait nearly an hour for the next bus so I tried walking and got lost and just ended up finding the main line way offbase and going home. Very depressed about that. I should probably call and apologize for standing up... blah.
Today I got where I needed to be but I forgot my ID and I didn't have enough money :( Bonus is I got to be around some cute girls. One was 18 (I heard her telling her mom this) and really short and slight and had this soft quiet voice, I was all mentally "eeeee". Second was this midget lady (you can also call her a little girl) who looked to be around 30 and she was with her boyfriend and I kept like... looking at her... lol. When we got on the bus he slapped her ass and she giggled! She had this really odd-sounding voice too, abnormal in a good way...
Anyway they eventually got off and this girl in a wheelchair got on, she reminded me of this girl who used to host 'The Zone' on YTV. She was cute but I don't flirt with girls even though we got off on the same spot and I was originally standing right where she was getting on... I moved because I thought she needed to go there but she went on the opposite side so if had stayed there I could have been closer! But like... when they load the wheelchairs on it is all like... awkward and you don't want to feel in the way and stuff and it'd be weird if you were asked to move so you do it ahead of time.
So anyway... ARG NEED ROMANCE OR SOMETHING

I won the scholarship I applied for! :DDDD I'm really proud of myself. I won't actually get the money until I'm about to start college; that way the money will be sure to go directly to me, and the school I go to won't be able to subtract that from any scholarship they may give me themselves. Tomorrow I go to the Symposium to accept the scholarship, and afterward I want to go buy a new schoolbag. I love my Cheng and Eng tote and it's my favorite bag, but it's just not big or sturdy enough for school ;__; I'll still carry it when I go out, though.
We may have Musician Day for Homecoming week and if we do I AM SO MAKING A SWAN DRESS.
I watched the Democratic National Convention today. Obama ♥ ♥

I've seen at least three notices on my MySpace referring to the hurricane that's coming. If you're a long-time reader of my blog, (I say that like people read this if they have a choice :-P) I will usually commune with nature before a hurricane comes nearby enough for me to feel it.
This year will be no exception. However, I will be heading to the New Orleans area tonight, with no planned return date. I don't know if Gustav, or another hurricane, will come close enough to me to be felt.
But rest assured that if one does, I will be out there. And I will invite those within the sound of my typing to join me in feeling a connection to the raw, destructive elemental forces of a hurricane.

so ok, i was talking to my mom the other day and we were talking about how i used to sleep walk when i was little, and she was like, yeah and when you were even younger you had night terrors.
WHAT.
she said i would just wake up screaming in the middle of the night and just scream and scream for no reason. she said i would never tell her why or if i did, all i would say was that it was because i was scared. i don't remember this at all. isn't this something significant in my life that i would remember? i remember other things very clearly from when i was that age but for some reason i can't remember waking up screaming all the time?
idk she said she thinks it had something to do with our house, because we think it was haunted or w/e but idk. why wouldn't i remember that? that's so freaky to me. i remember being scared a lot in that house and crying a lot and hearing sounds and voices and talking in the middle of the night and always hearing a scratching/bumping noise above me because my room had the stairs to the attic in it and seeing crazy stuff but yeah. that's crazy.
my roommate was thinking about leaving this weekend. and at first i was like, yeahhhh some alone time in my dorm! but then i remembered that at night, even when she's HERE i'm terrified of every little noise. i wish she hadn't made me watch dead silence. idk if i'll ever get over how terrifying that was.
also i'm getting tired of walking. BUT maybe that's just because i'm so exhausted right now. i got up at 9:30 to go work out for like 30 minutes and didn't even do much (i didn't realize why i was so weak and slow until i remembered that i hadn't eaten) and now i feel like crap. i thought working out was supposed to make you feel good and energized? w/e.

My stomach is angry with me. I ate too many cookies and the wrap the MICA staff provided me with was probably loaded with something nuclear.
Guh. There is this weird guy from OKc that keeps leaving me comments of fb. Obviously I blew him off when he wanted to grab coffee...I'm sure he's nice, but I know he's not my type. He talks about politics and carries a certain anger with him that is off putting. Also--he used the wrong "there/their/they're." I explained that point to my roommate and her beau--he thought it was shallow of me to write someone off because of a simple misusage of a word.
Simple. If it is such a simple mistake, he shouldn't make it in the first place! The writers, the artists = my weakness. I'd like to think I'm proficient in those areas, so why shouldn't my date be just as skilled? Bah! Inconceivable! How does a girl like me get off when I receive--say a love letter--when everything is misspelled? I've been there before, twice. I dated that marine and when...
ok time to confess. i started this entry and then stopped caring about the rant when i came back to it later. meh. i know it was a bit harsh. i just want to shut off my computer so i can spare the ram and i've lost my steam. strunk and white...i'm sorry i forgot you at home.

Who would have thought school will be this fun?Today was amazing, had lots of great conversations with my studio mates.I talked to Saf who used to attend Savannah College of Art and Design and he used to DJ!I was squealing away when we talked about our favorite music artists.Dub Incorporation!DJ Krush!Asian Dub Foundation!Bauhaus! And Julia who's from London, she told me she saw Morcheeba twice! And I told her I thought Bristol has (or had) the best music scene in the UK.And I was typing away, talking to Nico,Phil,Tom and Jojie(who sits just a couple of meters away from my space) while doing a wash for my canvas. How can I forget this?My favorite lecturer and I talked about Portishead's latest album,Third, today because he heard me playing it in the studio. And he happened to spot my copy of Kerouac's Subterraneans on my table and he started to tell me he hasn't read that yet :)
Everyone goes out for a cigarette together,so that's nice.Am enjoying the kind of independence and freedom I'm getting out of Fine Art.Will you ever have such privileges in say, fashion design? No fucking way!Just today,Icu was telling me how much her fashion class sucks.Full of airheads.I hope she switches to Fine Art soon!

This is the finish line.
The jack hammers started yesterday at 7 a.m.. They shook the building. They're perhaps 25 feet from where I was sleeping.
At the rentacar, they wouldn't take my Visa check cards, either of them. I have more cash money in my checking accounts than I ever have had and my American Express card account is about to be closed. Cash not acceptable. Had to return home in the rain for other cards, then back to rentacar place, score rentacar, drive around hood in the rain looking for a parking space.
Two hours behind schedule means many things which should be done won't be.
But that's all right. Perfection is not only the enemy of the good it's no way to get out of Dodge.
Hoo boy.

This is Bella, my roomie Amanda's cat that I am now cohabiting with! :)

She's very tiny and skinny, I keep feeling like I'm gonna crush her when I pet her, lol...interesting coloring too; Amanda says she thinks she's a mix of Burmese and Siamese, or something?
I just ordered my ticket for Broadway Loves The 80's 4, huzzah...I ended up missing #3 even though I HAD a ticket, because of my stupid foot. :P So this time I am determined to go!! (Even though I'm not as wild about the performers this time; I don't know some of em though, they could be fantastic.)
I seriously need to find and book some movers for tomorrow already, if possible. These ones look pretty good, but they told me it'd be $100/hour plus a $100 travel fee! Ugh...
P.S. I didn't win "Hair" lotto yesterday either, am trying again today of course.

I thought these were good. I got very high scores in all of them, missing only one on Oblahma (#16, whoops!) and a couple on McCain, but none on the presidential ones (because I am awesome and had an exemplary education in a PUBLIC school in the 80's...plus I had a fascination with trivia and history in general, so I always did well in History and was a star player in Trivia Bowl).
The Tribune has been very vocal and critical of Oblahma. You see, not everyone in Chicago (or Illinois) .~*hearts*~. the guy unconditionally like most Obamatrons.
Take the Obama Quiz
Take the McCain Quiz
Take the U.S. Presidents Quiz
Because honestly? All of what's in these quizzes are you should know about your candidate. If you score poorly on the Obama, McCain (or even the other) quizzes, then you should uh...you know, learn about who you're voting for. Be sure to click the referential links at the answer page.
