im pretty much sorted with my layout except for one thing

its a community layout and the bit underneath the header image only shows the community userpic and the name of the community...nothing else...

how do i get it to show links to memories, profile, etc? :/

Hi there people.
I just joined the community for some help on a wanted layout.
Well, more like help to get a wanted layout.
Pleaaaaaaase help... please.
I'd like this as a header, and just a simple one column journal.
Only one link on the bottom right corner for commenting, and the colors will be based on the header picture.
Can anyone help me with this?
It seems easy... right?

Hello all,

I'm currently trying to get my header image to show up on my livejournal, but having a problem. Despite the fact that I have a working url in the "Header url" box, and the correct image height in the subsequent box below it, my header image is MIA. My background image is showing up just fine, along with tiling as I would like, but no matter what I do, I can't get a header to show up.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, or its just some kind of bug? *frustration*

Everything on my layout works fine, but I cant seem to get rid of the regular

links.

does anyone know how i can get rid of those?

i've done so much reading, my eyes are going to fall out!

i've found a really great override that i want to use (i'll probably be heavily modifying it but i want to use the basis of it to start). it's a custom override for the "component" layout in S2. you can see what it looks like here:

my problem is that i finally managed to figure out how to load it up and get it to display, but it doesn't seem to render everything properly. what i get is basically component with a small bit of customization but none of the major changes. for example:

* it centres the userinfo at the top of the page...
* but it keeps the userpic and profile information on the right side instead of the left
* it customizes the calander...
* but doesn't add all the extra boxes (quotes, search, etc)

if you go to my LJ, you can see what i mean.

any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

If you go to my lj, you'll see my background is not one single colour but it's striped. I don't want it to be striped I just want one bold colour to be the background. How do I fix this?

SO! My main entry table thing is seen justified to the left on pc's, but is centered for some strange reason on my mac. I intended for everything text oriented to be pushed all the way to the left, as its matching background is on the right and you can't read anything when they overlap.
Is there any way to fix this? It's really bugging me.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out getting started on S2. I'm pretty sure I can figure it out if I can just find a template/layer that will allow me to customize the layout to look like my current s1 layout (dublinsky_, for example, has something like what I'm looking for only I want to be able to use a imagemap).

How do I remove the gap between the Nav bar (at the top) and my header? I'm using the Opal template by halffling/kunzite1.

Hello there,

I have a little problem with my layout and the CSS. A few days ago I changed my browser from iE to Firefox. Unluckily my journals layout looked totally crappy in Firefox, I managed to make it look right in Firefox but now it looks crappy in other browsers. How can I make it look it the same in ALL browser? Did anyone experienced similar things? Can anyone help? It's an S1 style, by the way.

This is my first shot at this, but I managed to convert my LiveJournal layout to look like my regular website. I mostly just crosspost to LJ from Wordpress and the one thing that was bothering me is that the two pages didn't look alike. After some trial and error, I managed to figure out how to do it, using SI (Generator):

The main difference between the two is that my website has a dynamically changing header based on the date, and the Livejournal version has a static header. Also, I managed to change a tag in my CSS so that the max-width of images will be contained within my page so that anyone who posts a REALLY wide image won't blow my friends page out. I did have an issue with one poster who posted some code and it did blow the page out, so I'm working on figuring that out.

Is there an override for Generator in S1 so I can see my user pic on my recent entries? I read that there wasn't a way, unless you made a friends group with yourself in it, and even if you did that, you are the only one that can see your icon on the entries.

Can anyone help?

I just have a question. Once I know the answer, I probably won't need much more assistance =)) I've had a paid account for something like three and a half years, and pretty much since the beginning I've made my own S1 styles for my journal. It's pretty easy for me, but then again I have *no idea* about S2 =)) hehe. Soo .. my question is whether there's a way to have Entry Tags show up on a style thats been created in S1. Same with the monthly calendar deal that some of the S2 styles have on them, I like that too.

So .. is there any way to integrate these features (the calendar with links to entries, and the entry tags) into an S1 style? If yes, how to I do this? Thank you!!!

Hello,

This is perhaps a little elementary, but I've never been able to get this right. I would really appreciate anyone's assistance on the matter.

I am using generator, and my entry tables are transparent, with a background image on the left. How can I simply move my entry tables to the right? I see many people do it, but I can never find a tutorial or correct code for it.
