These two things have nothing to do with each other, yet I have been a concoction of both for as long as I can remember. How can this be: a volatile cocktail of extreme sadness and extreme exhilaration, bottled up for one girl to drink?

11:50 am - The Librarian Type (A True Story)

Photo: Katenadine

Karolina was the librarian type: bushy brown hair, dangly frame and a pair of glasses hanging awkwardly on her long, narrow nose. Her Russian had a bit of a drawl. "Estonia," she replied nonchalantly to my question as we walked home from school, kicking October leaves that spread like a carpet beneath our feet.

07:44 am - ALLS FAIR IN LOVE AND MINIONS
ALLS FAIR IN LOVE AND MINIONS

"Release the angry radioactive bears with poisonous breath!" yelled Ripgibbler the Twisted. The lair had a sense of calmness in the air today, I enjoyed it. My name is Sofia, and I am Ripgibbler's secretary/minion. I've been working for Ripgibbler since the 80s, but back then he was much nicer.

THE EIGHTIES

I had long, platinum blond hair and wore bright tie dye tops back then. I even wore a bandanna. Trip was just a young guy who wanted to be black. He always wore and afro and lots of brown colors. He also faked this weird accent. I remember one day he was watching porn, and saw the black guys privates. That day, he stuffed his crotch with socks.

I used to be his friend. His partner in his incessant adventure to groovy-ness. We went to roller disco together and we even faked having sex to make this black chick jealous. Trip was so oblivious. He never even knew what he was getting himself into.

THE NINETIES

I was there when he turned 30 in the nineties. Whew, was that a sight. Then, he finally reached the penultimate stage of being a black gangsta. The plan was that he was a pimp and I was his bitch. I had to wear a wig that made my hair feel weird and woolly. I still stuck by him, though. Even when he sold me off to this guy to have his way with me. The things I did for love. I kicked that guy in his balls and ran back to Trip crying. It turned out that the man he sold me to was Big Mean Green Fightin' Machine, the leader of a street gang. Then, BGMFM had his thugs try to assassinate us. Thats when we fled to Oklahoma, where we were on the streets for a few years.

The 2000s

When 2000 came, we were living in a homeless shelter, and stealing from stores. That was a low time. Trip still hadn't let go of his dream of being a thug. Thats when he started taking jobs from this Mexican. He went out everyday and came back late at night. He came back with blood on his shirt. At that point, it was all good, so I didn't question his code of ethics.

2005

We had been living in a townhouse. We bought it with the money he brought home from his mysterious job. Then, we had to flee Oklahoma to Connecticut. He said it was because the governor had died of natural causes. When we settled in Connecticut, he started dealing with this Italian guy, who hooked him up with all these cool gadgets. Of course, then, Trip had been talking about Whack-A-Mole or something. Thats when we moved to the coast and moved into a lighthouse.

PRESENT

Trip is now reluctant to get out of his 'Power Suit' and he keeps weird animals around the house. He also insists that I call him Ripgibbler. I don't say anything, he's all I have. I love him. I guess he wronged me a few times, but alls fair in love, of course.

09:57 pm - first chapter of a story...
Hello, I'm new, and I have this idea for a story about a troubled boy whose family dies and is forced to live with his immature uncle. There's a fantasy element to it  dealing with angels, reincarnation, necromancing, and a war in heaven, even though it doesnt seem like it, and I'm curious if the idea could sell? This is a really, REALLY rough first draft of the first chapter written years ago.

04:12 am - Does anybody read this anymore?
Oh, and just wanted to say [to whomever it may concern], I am starting a new story that I hope will be more successful on its journey to completement. I've picked up a new way of starting books.

I hate writing [pencil/paper] but I get my best ideas by putting the graphite to the notebook. Despite how long it takes me to actually write compared to typing, I think I'm gonna start doing that, or atleast for the book I have started. Typing may be faster, but my brain is so scattered when I try it's ridiculous.

The book is going to be a Trilogy I hope [if I ever get done with the first], and it's about five friends who all live screwed up lives in Eastpointe, MI [keeping it close to home, though this doesnt reflect on my homelife or any of my friends'] and whind up straight-up leaving. Book One basically covers their lives (the first five chapters introduce you to the five characters. Ex) Chapter One: Jeremy, tells you about Jeremy's life from his perspective, though not as though he's narrating, just as if he's the Main Character for that little passage. Chapter Two: Anaya, same thing and so on), and then shows them leaving and staying with their friend Adam, who has a house in Harper Woods because his grandmother isnt doing well and his parents are loaded. They're gone for two weeks doing whatever it is they do [still a bit scratchy] and have left him with some cash for while they're away.

Obviously you cant support yourself and five others on maybe $1,000 for two weeks, but it's cool 'cause 3/5 friends have jobs, so they're helping out with buying food and whatnot and cleaning. Well Adam's parents come home early as Amy [the timid shy one] is getting out of the shower and is making her way downstairs [where they've been residing] and obivously they're not too happy to learn that five strangers have been in their house while they've been gone.

Book One ends after Amy and Tyler [the two without jobs] get ahold of everyone at work and tell them of their situation. Discreetly, they get their belongings and leave. Sort of like a cliff hanger oooh where are they gonna go? What's gonna happen? type thing, y'know?

Sorry about rambling on, but I'm really REALLY excited about this *smiles all big and proud*

Havent seen anyone post in here in forever, but I was looking back on past LJ posts, and this was in there. It's a dream I wrote about, but it was a good description I think. The first two paragraphs are kinda crappy because I was typing it as basic whatever and not actually trying to be professional about it. But you can tell as you read that I start to get into what I'm writing.

Over the past few days, I have been really upset. The idea of my aunt dying is really taking a toll on my daily life. Not that I want anything to happen to someone else, but my aunt happens to be my favorite relative. What upsets me even more is what my father said the other day. The man cannot come to grips with reality. Everything just somehow always relates to God. His sister is dying and he can still manage to say it is the will of God. Just writing this down almost brings me to tears. I am really confused.

Last night, Katlyn and I went to the city to get some Italian food. I cannot even remember the last time I went to an upscale restaurant. Usually I would prefer Japanese food, especially sushi, but Katlyn seems to be a big fan of Italian. I could tell how much she loved Italian food by the way she could pronounce everything on the menu.

Yesterday, Katlyn and I spent the whole day together. She said she wanted to do something different, so I decided to take her to a driving range. Not only was it a way for us to try something new, but it also let me whack a couple of balls. The driving range helped me get rid of some extra aggression and tension. The only problem was I couldn't hit the damn things. Half the time, my swing would miss everything except the air. Katlyn was just as bad. Most of the time, we would look up at each other and simply laugh at our futile attempts to drive the balls. Now I know for the next time not to buy the jumbo bucket of balls, it is way too many.
