I'm taking the LSAT in 5 days and it has really been a journey. Not just an academic journey, but a spiritual one as well. I try to never forget that this is all in God's hands. Please pray for me, that I can focus on the test on Saturday and keep my confidence level up.

Thank you and God bless!

Prayers concerning Hurrican Gustav

Please pray for all those affected and those who will soon be affected by Hurricane Gustav. It's hard to believe that almost 3 years to the date of being hit by Hurricane Katrina - they may soon be hit by Hurricane Gustav as well. Let's just keep them all in prayer. Thank you.

Baby update

Thank the Lord, God Almighty! Miracles do happen, and he does answer prayers. God blessed little Eleanor. She's almost completely better. The Pleural Effusion is going away on it's own. We didn't have to do any procedure, just tons of tests and ultrasounds. And let me tell you, MRIs are extremely frightening for unborn children. I cried I felt so bad for her.

They still have to keep a close eye on her to make sure it doesn't come back, and if it does, we'll get it tapped. But I really believe it won't. There's a 5% chance she'll have a genetic abnormality, but I'm still refusing the amnio. If she does have Down or Turner's Syndrome, I'll still love her regardless and take it from there. I'm not going to take that risk now that she's fine.

Cincinnati was so hectic. I was so terrified, my fiance was terrified, we all were. I've never been so stressed and so scared. But my baby girl is fine, and I strongly believe she's going to be completely normal. She's blessed. She's my miracle. And now, I've never been so relieved and happy. My baby's going to be completely fine.

Thank you every single one of you who prayed and kept Eleanor Rose close in your hearts. I'm here to tell you God listens and does in fact answer prayers. He does perform miracles. Just please continue to keep her in your prayers. She's still not completely out of the woods and won't be until she's born and confirmed healthy and normal. So pray the Pleural Effusion keeps going away completely and stays away. And pray she'll be 100% healthy.

I love my baby girl more than anyone I've ever loved before. I never thought that was possible.

P.S. Even the doctors were amazed and baffled by how quickly it's resolving itself. They said it does occasionally happen, but not that quick.

And they told me, only 1 in 15000 babies get Pleural Effusions. Pleural Effusions are kinda rare.

Prayer Request

My mother is scheduled for a root canal, and ever since she was put on medication in preparation, she has been in great pain. Today, she was in such agony that my grandmother had to take her to the emergency room. If it's not too much trouble, please pray for the pain to ease and a safe root canal.

Update

I just posted a few days ago about my baby with the pleural effusion and promised to update.

They want me to have an amniocentesis to figure out if she has any genetic abnormalities or some sort of a viral infection. It's not necessary but it could help. There's a risk of a miscarriage with an amnio, and it's even higher when the baby has a pleural effusion. I was supposed to do it today, but after a dying car and crying and praying for an hour we decided to postpone it at least for now.

I may end up going to a special fetal care clinic in Cincinnati next week to try to remove the fluid through a needle. There is of course I risk for a miscarriage with this as well. I'm not sure if I should be going through with the amniocentesis and the thoracentensis, the removal of the fluid from her lung. I've been praying constantly for a sign or an answer. I'm terrified of making the wrong decision and losing my baby.

Please pray for me while I make these decisions. Pray for my baby to remain strong and healthy, and for me, my fiance, and my family to remain strong as well. Pray I make the right decisions and don't lose my little girl.

God bless you all.

Hello

This is my first time posting here. I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and during an ultrasound on Tuesday, they found a thickening on my baby's right lung caused by some kind of fluid. They called it a Pleural Effusion. They're not yet sure what caused this. It could be a genetic disorder such as Down's Syndrome, or it could be a lymphatic problem. It's causing her little heart to be shifted over. Everything else seems to be perfectly normal for her. But it could be a huge problem later. We have to decide whether or not to try to drain her lung now or put a shunt in it later. And then we have to hope and pray it doesn't come back.

So I ask for prayers for my little baby girl. Pray that she has no genetic abnormalities, that if they drain her lung, it goes away completely so she can live a normal life. Pray for her to be healthy and happy, and for this not to cause any larger problems for her.

She's so tiny and active. I love this little girl so much, and I'm so worried. I'm praying constantly.

Please pray for my uncle George. He's dying of terminal lung cancer and he's finally become so weak that he can't get up. My parents are with him now. The pain he's in isn't even existance for him anymore. He's skin and bones. Please pray that he will pass quickly and without any more suffering. Please.

I also humbly ask that you pass this around as much as you can to areas where it is deemed appropriate. Thank you so much. God Bless.

It's Official!

Last week, I experienced the fulfillment of a dream I have had for over 20 years: I am now officially a licenced and ordained minister! So if you need anyone to perform a wedding, baptism or funeral, I'm legal :-)

Seriously, though, this is one of the greatest honors of my life, and one that I take very, very seriously. I have felt the calling on my life for a long time, but when I tried to pursue it before, the door closed. In hindsight, it was just as well because I wasn't ready. If I had managed to go into ministry back then, I would have fallen flat on my face. After a great deal of struggle, I put it to rest, deciding that I would be content to serve God as a layman. I told Him that if He wanted me in the ministry, He would have to be the One who brought it up. For several years, that was how things went. But then...

Things seemed to happen one after the other to show me that God was taking my life in a new direction. He opened up many new relationships, especially with my pastors, Larry and Diane Keith, and new opportunities, such as teaching classes for the Bible Training Center at church. Over time, I would hear things through prophetic words, as well as personal conversations that confirmed things verbatim that I had prayed about for years. When Pastor Keith made the offer for me to be ordained, I had peace in my heart that the time was right.

The initial service took place at Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, Michigan (http://www.woficc.com/). That place is amazing! It says a lot for the church when you can walk into a place filled with people you've never met, and to immediately feel you are with family. The worship was awesome! It was their annual convention and they had a number of prominant speakers including John Hagee, Joyce Meyer and the Copelands. The ordination was on Thurday night, presided over by Bishop Keith Butler, the church's senior pastor and overseeing bishop over the network of churches which my home church is affiliated with. There must have been 50-100 people ordained from churches all over the world. In last Sunday morning's service, Pastor Keith performed a "miniature" version of the ordination for our home church as well. It was a remarkable experience.

I'm so excited to be serving in this capacity, but I know full well that I have accepted an enormous responsibility. To step into ministry is to step onto very holy ground. Prayers are greatly appreciated, and I'll keep you posted!

Seeking a New Mod

Hey Everyone:

For various spiritual reasons, I am needing to hand this community over to a new owner. I must say that this community is quite successful as far as LiveJournal communities go. There are already several mods, so you won't be alone in maintaining the community.

If you are interested in taking ownership of the community (that means that you will have control over the userinfo, the mods, the layout, etc) please shoot me an email at natewillsheets@gmail.com, letting me know your experience in this community. Current mods are especially encouraged to apply.

Thanks,

Nate Sheets

Prayer for Mykal 5 in a coma

My boyfriend David lives in Ohio. His son Mykal, who is has epilepsy. He is 5 years old. On April 18, 2008 he had a seizure which caused a large blood clot on his brain.

On Wed. May 6- he went into a coma- and there was no brain activity.
On Thursday May 7 they performed brain surgery to remove the blood clot.

He is not waking up. I keep praying and my faith in unbelievable but I know it is soo hard for David and with me being in Florida and him in Ohio it is even harder. I don't know what to do. I asking that you please pray for healing. The doctor's says there is not much hope but I don't believe that. I believe that our God is amazingly powerful and almighty and he CAN and WILL heal this young child.

David was having chest pains yesterday and now he is in the hospital.

Please lift both David and Mykal up in prayer. I know miracles happen!

Steven Curtis Chapman's Daughter killed in tragic Accident....

Daughter of Christian music star killed by car
By JOE EDWARDS – 7 hours ago

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, authorities said.

The girl, Maria Sue, was hit in the driveway of the family's home Wednesday afternoon by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother, said Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The brother, whose name and exact age weren't available, apparently did not see the girl, McPherson said. No charges are expected.

"It looks like a tragic accident," she said.

Several family members witnessed the accident, which happened in Williamson County just south of Nashville. The girl died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, hospital spokeswoman Laurie Holloway said.

In a statement, Velvet Kelm, a publicist for Chapman, said Maria was the Chapmans' youngest daughter.

Chapman, who is originally from Paducah, Ky., and his wife have promoted international adoption and have three daughters from China, including Maria. They also have three biological children.

The singer's Web site says the couple was persuaded by their oldest daughter to adopt a girl from China. The experience led the family to adopt two more children and create Shaohannah's Hope, a foundation and ministry to financially assist thousands of couples in adoption.

The Chapmans did missionary work at Chinese orphanages in 2006 and 2007, according to the Web site.

"After our first trip to China, my wife and I knew our lives were changing — our eyes and hearts were opening to how big God really is, and we have wanted to experience more of that," Chapman says on the Web site.

"We've really wondered whether or not we should just go to China and stay there. But I don't think so. I believe God is saying, 'I want you to go, get your heart broken, your eyes opened, and then take this story back to the church in America and around the world.'"

The 45-year-old singer also has released a book about being a father titled "Cinderella: The Love of Daddy and his Princess." He has won five Grammy awards and 54 Dove awards from the Gospel Music Association, according to Kelm.

Update

Thank you so much for your prayers. It is awesome to see God working in our lives. My last post was for my boyfriend's mother after she had an abnormal mammogram. The update is good and bad. The good news is that she had a biopsy and the abnormality isn't cancerous. The bad news is that it is pre-cancerous tissue & with her history, it is very likely it will turn into cancer if she doesn't take care of it. In a way, even that isn't terrible news because it's been caught so early.

So it sounds like she is going to have surgery to have it removed, in the hope of getting rid of this issue and prevent future problems.

Thank you again for your prayers. This is such an awesome group for outreach.

Please pray for me, that I do well on my last final. Thank you!

Yesterday, my boyfriend told me that his mother went in for her yearly mammogram and they found something abnormal. She has been a breast cancer survivor for roughly 13 years, and this is in the other breast, so it could very likely be something significant. She won't know anything for sure until a biopsy is done next week.

I've only known this family for one year, but I love them like my own family. They are amazing people & they could use your prayers. Please pray that, God willing, all of the tests come back normal, and that it is just a false alarm.

Thank you...

Jesus Help Me

Please pray for a breakthrough in my life. I have suffered so much lately, so many losses of people i care about, and im trying to rebuild my life. Please pray for my strength and guidance, I really need something positive in my life. I have so many worries about my life, and im trying to trust in the Lord fully, and then i end up falling right back down. Jesus Help me.

My own brother may not come, as well as michael's children. The service is tomorrow afternoon and they live out of state and have stopped returning our calls.

On top of it i just have so many tedious tasks I have to start taking care of with school, and I'm so lonely this single life is kickin my butt. I really need a break through, just something positive in my life. Its been an emotional rollercoaster these past few months, and I really need something to look forward to.

My Grandmother has been in and out of the hospital and nursing home pretty much since January, first with a gall bladder operation then a bowel obstruction, a UTI, another bowel obstruction and etcetera.. She is an assisted living/hospice facility now. Yesterday she had a stroke that has affected her right side and speech. I will choke the living $#!% out of the next person who tells me, 'She's 85, she's had a good life'. She's 85 and was still having a good life until January. Why do people think saying stuff like that is helpful - IT'S NOT. She is my best friend and I miss her being like she was. I miss calling her everyday and taking her places. I miss her. I miss her.

pray without ceasing

Hello, thank you to all who have been keeping my family and I in your prayers. I greatly appreciate the comments and positive encouragment many have given me for myself and my step father Michael. I come to you all tonight, in desperate need of prayer.

Please lift up my step father Michael Wreyford into your prayers. He is currently in the hospital following massive heart attacks, and surgery, and is currently on an artificial heart device that is aiding his heart. His chest still remains open due to swelling and the extent of his heart, and leaves him at risk of infection. We talked to the doctors, and the lastest results of Michael's ct scan has shown that he had another stroke. They are unsure at the extent of the damage but they are lowering his sedation and pain medication and said they should be able to tell within the next 48-72 hours.

Please pray that the Lord can heal Michael completely. Mind,Body,Soul. I know that to some degree Michael is aware of his surroundings because his blood pressure always goes down when he hears my moms voice, or when she holds his hand. He also shed some tears today when she read him some scripture out loud.

Please pray in whatever way the spirit leads you. I will not stop praying, and know that the Lord is near to us.

Right now we need a miracle, and I keep reminding myself that the Lord is the ultimate phsyican. Even when doctors say his odds are not good, and that there is not much hope, the Lord supplies HOPE. Please stand with me in prayer, let us get this miracle, and may it be a great testimony to the glory of God!

Please pray for my mom Lori as well to have strength and faith. She is starting to lose hope and I know that the enemy is waiting to step in because we have been so strong in our faith. Please pray that the enemy can have no power in our family or michael's health

Love,
Your Sister In Christ
Michele

Still holding on for a miracle.

Thank you to everyone for their support in my post a few days ago. Will anyone stand in agreement with me, for my step dad? Lord knows he needs a miracle, and theres power in prayer. Praise Jesus for such an amazing community of women!

Oh precious Jesus hear my cries to you, hear my prayers (psalm 61:1) I come to you finding rest in you, hope in you, and hope that you can do a great miracle in the life of my step dad Michael. Lord you know the details, and I pray that you can pass on this request to those that can help me. Lord, please give Michael rest after many stressful and trying surgeries. His body is very weak, and I pray for a complete physical healing over his body. May you take him in your loving arms and comfort him as he much be in a great amount of physical distress and pain. I pray that you can help us to cast our cares to you oh Lord because you will sustain us and bring us through this difficult time (psalm 55:22) Lord, today the doctors could not seem to wake Michael from his sedation and they are talking that he may have had a stroke. I pray Lord that they can find that this is not the case and that you are taking care of Michael , in ways that are not are ways that defy our own understanding. I pray that future tests will show that he has normal brain activity, and that you can work behind the scenes. Lord I pray for the machines that are keeping him alive, and for the artificial device that is working as his heart. May the doctors be able to help him, and administor care that is necessary for his improvement. I pray Lord that he can improve his strength and the doctors can be amazed at his progress. I pray that a miracle can be done, and that you can keep us driven to pray for your will to be done. Lord I stand strong in my faith, and you tell us in Matthew about believing and having faith. Lord, just as you healed the blind men that had great faith (matthew 9:29) I pray you can heal Michael's heart, and mind and bring him through this. In Jesus most precious name. Amen.
