I've been reading about how some elements of the Pro-Life community see this as nothing more than an "anti discrimination" issue ... because government funding is being denied for organizations that "discriminate" against potential employees' religious beliefs.

They seem to be ignoring the fact that these people, if hired, would be in positions of power to withhold medical care from those whose beliefs differ from theirs. That form of discrimination is apparently acceptable.

The real danger, of course, is that this proposal clearly sets the precedent of putting religious ideology on equal - or greater - footing than actual medical science. Now, instead of "activist judges", we'll have "activist doctors" ... but that'll be A-OK because they're workin' for Jeezus.

Anyway, I'll read it and sign it. Just thought I'd litter your inbox with a rant :)
